Easy 4 @ 11:10min/mile = 45:29 mins 🏃♀️ Average Heart rate = 148 ❤️ . . My legs felt like bricks, from my weekend long tennis camp...but I got it done 👊🏻 I know my body enough to once I got started I would listen up and feel better! . . When is fatigue healthy and when is it a sign of overtraining? It’s so important you have an awareness of how you feel before and after your training runs because only you will be able to determine at what point the fatigue your feeling is not healthy. Finished up Nike tennis camp today with some fun and challenging drills! Definitely gave me some things to work on over the next few months🎾 . . Tennis isn’t really considered a cross training to running, but I LOVE the sport, so I make it work. I listen to my body and am careful during marathon training not to over do it. The next few months I’ll be backing off tennis while my mileage ramps up. I am mindful on how I approach both sports. I don’t stop playing tennis, because it feeds my soul, as does running. It’s all about BALANCE and listening to my body 🤸♀️ (at Midland, Michigan)

W1D6 Easy 3 @ 11:18 min/ mi = 33:59 mins👍🏻 Average heart rate = 141 BPM ❤️ . . Had trouble staying in my target pace range for aerobic base running (11:30-11:47 min/mi)...kept going too fast, BUT my heart rate was below my max aerobic hr, so I knew it was okay👌🏻 . . . Making my target pacing and/or heart rate for the aerobic training runs are JUST as important if not more than hitting pace for the speed work. 🏃♀️ . . Endurance running without a solid aerobic base is like a tree growing with shallow roots...it’s only a matter of time before it comes tumbling down🌳 (at Clearcreek Township, Warren County, Ohio)

W1D4 Easy 3 @ 15:46/mi = 47:25 mins 👍🏻 Average HR 147 ❤️ . . Do you ever see someone’s IG or Facebook and think, their training looks picture perfect and so smooth! Why am I always injured and struggle so badly? 🤦🏼♀️ You see my snapshot from this morning’s run...on the surface, it appears it went smoothly. However, it was quite the opposite. My boys had a day camp and I planned to run while they were there. We were in a hurry and guess who forgot to eat 🙋🏼♀️ I often run fasted for training under 60 mins in morning, but a mid morning run was pushing it. I chugged down some Nuun and made the best of it. Although a howling belly, it turned out quite nice besides my wipe out during the last 1/2 mile! That’s REAL training though ups and downs- good and bad. 👍🏻 . . . Next time you have that little voice in your head starting to compare your training journey to someone else’s, remember often we post or tell others the “good” and you may not see the bad or ugly another runner may have gone through. No one’s journey is easy, we all have different paths 🌟 (at Clearcreek Township, Warren County, Ohio)

Easy 3.0 @ 12:00min/mile = 36:08 min 🏃♀️ Average Heart rate = 127 BPM 👍🏻 . . I had a late start this morning and didn’t get my run in🤦🏼♀️ my son had swim team practice and has swim champs his this evening I knew I had to get out this afternoon. “I manifest the things I want by believing in their existence”🌟 . . Woke to this email this morning👍🏻 I can officially add “RN” behind my name. The journey wasn’t easy, but it was worth it🙏🏻 I learned a lot about myself and others through the process. No doubt, if I hadn’t had a solid mindfulness practice, I would have been a very different person and had a very different experience. By continuing my running, yoga, meditation, mindful and other various self care tools throughout my experience in the nursing program, I was able to stay “calm in the chaos”...even when walking into a potential 6hr test. So many things can affect your heart rate...nutrition, hydration, heat, stress, etc. keep a training journal and you will start to notice what has the biggest influence your on HR 👍🏻 . .
