Just finished this page! I'm very proud of it, I'm very happy with how the lettering and the gold turned out :)

monks are a sort of animal you have to take care of. the monastery is a little terrarium. the diet consists of bread, porridge, woodchips from crosses, and wine. being allowed to pet the tonsure is a symbol of trust

there's a little dragon on the manuscript we're transcribing from in my medieval studies class atm :]
This manuscript is called mssEL 26 C 9 Ellesmere Chaucer from the Huntington Library, San Marino, California and it's fol 1r, for anyone curious! It's the first page of the general prologue to The Canterbury Tales

AITA for making a wall fall on a child?
Hear me out here, please. I (51M, deceased), was prayed to a little while ago by a father and mother of a young boy when he fell gravely ill. I, of course, healed him, and they promised they would go to my shrine to give thanks. They did not, even after a few months. So, to give them a little prompting, I made a wall fall on their child whilst he was in his cradle. His mother prayed he would be healed like I had healed him last time, so I made sure he was not grievously harmed! Just a little to make sure they would go. And they did! But I do feel, admittedly, a little guilt for it. Perhaps I should have made the wall fall on the parents instead?
Thank you,
TB
this seems... familiar, somehow...

I named my hamster The Pope because I thought it would lighten the mood when he inevitably died in some strange hamster way…
which is to say, I must regretfully announce that The Pope has died under… mysterious circumstances
