HEYYY FRIEND so I've recently started drawing and I was wondering if you have any tips??? 👀

AAA YAY! That's so cool!!! :) Thank you for coming to me for advice!! All of this is done on my phone with my finger 😭 sorry about that

I wish I had more to say beyond like the overdone. Practice. And OBSERVE! Draw from reference if you need, but don't over rely on it.

I always reference something the first few times I draw it, but WHEN you use reference, break it down into simpler shapes :) It tends to help me remember how to draw stuff later on.

A lot of my techniques come from when I was studying animation(Someone I am really inspired by is Don Bluth)! Stuff like shape language and lines of action!!

UHH I wouldn't stress too much about perfection or finding "your style", it comes with time and is something that will more than likely grow and change as you do. :)

Something really great about imperfections is the humanity in them, and it can help make your art more distinct.

Treat your sketch books/papers like an art class!! They don't have to be pretty or "aesthetic" or filled to the brim or perfectly empty, because art is a very personal journey for each person!! Uhh

I'm not a professional, so I'm not sure how much of my advice is like GENIUNELY helpful.

The line of action is a line that indicates flow/movement. I usually let it go from head to foot.^

Edit: silhouette is also good to think about for distinct character designs. Sort of pretend you're trying to make diverse characters with a shadow.
