being an adult is so weird

You ever have those days where you’re like ‘there is technically no one but yourself stopping you from randomly moving to a different country. or spending nearly three hundred bucks on a reproduction of a medieval tapestry. or learning the accordion’

and the other part of your brain is like ‘there’s also no one but yourself stopping you from doing the dishes. gotta do those first’

it‘s actually kind of wild to bring your son and aunt and a home cooked meal as an ENTIRE APOLOGY to your best friend for arguing with him

and still call it best friendism

Treasures untold

He didn’t start collecting things that are important until he met Eddie. Buck doesn’t often think about that shoe box in the back of his closet, he just knows it’s there. It exists and Buck will add things to it, before pushing it back into the dark recesses. The first thing Buck had put in there was a sticker. It’s an orange circle with a green, cartoon caterpillar smiling widely. Under its many legs and body are the words I was brave today! It had fallen from Christopher’s shirt into the back of Buck’s jeep from when he’d taken Eddie to pick Chris up from school, after the earthquake. Buck had picked up the sticker while he was cleaning a few days later and smiled at it, remembering the way Chris had chattered on happily. As if he was utterly unaffected by being left behind at school because his dad was working. Carefully, because the sticky has worn off under fluff, Buck sellotaped it onto a piece of paper, jotted down the date and met Christopher, and slotted it into the shoe box meant for his trainers. - Buck keeps a collection of Christopher and Eddie things in a box in his closet. Then Eddie finds the box.
