Superman Man of Steel: Superboy VS King Shark; Kenner Limited Edition Promo Comic
Superman Man of Steel: Superboy VS King Shark; Kenner Limited Edition Promo Comic
It’s been years since I’ve made a post but I came here to post this PDF and then probably disappear again for however long. But this comic is near impossible to find online and/or in person. It was supposed to be released in the 90s with the Kenner toys to match but got cancelled. I was finally able to track the comic down on eBay and to keep anyone else from paying the absurd amount that I paid…

August 2019 Recap
DNF’d Books
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
Do I even have to explain?? It was dull. Couldn’t stand the main character. She was too impulsive. And I didn’t understand the hate towards her father. There wasn’t enough explanation. I also didn’t get the conflict on the planet. There wasn’t enough reason or drive for a lot of things.
Books Read Favorite?
The Jumbiesis the only book I read this month.…

July 2019 Recap
DNF’d Books
Wake of Vultures by Lila Bowen
I didn’t know it was a western vampire book going in. I think I had bought this book as a discount buy on my kindle? I loved the first chapter, it was very immersive. The text was a little too much though. I’m not really sure how to explain it but it was hard to lose myself. I found myself struggling just to read a sentence and started to skim paragraphs.

Review: The Line Tender by Kate Allen
Review: The Line Tender by Kate Allen
I knew opening this book was going to do something to me. Being a very strong shark enthusiast and growing up studying sharks with the goal to become a shark biologist one day, I expected this book to ruin me. I just didn’t expect it to ruin me as badly as it did.
You see, two years before applying to colleges I found a new passion and with new things, I followed that path instead of the one I…

Review: Aru Shah and the Song of Death
Review: Aru Shah and the Song of Death
I love that it’s formatted similarly to the Percy Jackson books. It’s informative and entertaining. Aru is an adorable and relatable character.
I love the character arcs with Aru and Brynne. Mini too. All the characters are just so well rounded and they all make sacrifices for each other. They’re selfless and caring.
It’s everything I love with middle grade and I can’t wait for the next…

Review: Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
Review: Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
So I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a mixture between Guardian’s of the Galaxy and Stranger Things. I’m really curious where this series is going to go.
I loved all the personalities. I’m not even sure how to go about summarizing Aurora Rising. I was scared to read it because I loved Illuminae but whenever I read Kaufman’s or Kristoff’s other works, I never liked it. I was…

Review: The Crash of Hennington by Patrick Ness
Review: The Crash of Hennington by Patrick Ness
You follow several characters in this. Those of which you don’t care much for or understand their importance until the rest of the story falls into place. It’s almost like braiding hair. It looks like nothing until you get further in.
To be honest, if this was written by any other author I would not have finished it. Politics is a heavy topic in this book and I’ve DNF’d before for that reason. It…

Review: When the Sky Fell on Splendor by Emily Henry
Review: When the Sky Fell on Splendor by Emily Henry
I really wish I DNF’d this when I first thought about it. The book is pitched as Stranger Things meets The Serpent King. While I wasn’t a fan of The Serpent King (I actually DNF’d it last year) I was hoping that the Stranger Things aspect would save the story. It didn’t.
Literally, take the Stranger Things cast, age them to high school in the 21st century and replace the Upside Down with aliens…

Review: Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre
Review: Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre
I haven’t read a page-turner in a while. I truly would have read this in one sitting if I didn’t have to work.
I loved the world. I loved the main character Zara. I wish the story had taken a different turn than it did, but I still like the ending. I’m in no rush to read the next book. I kind of want to read it closer to book 3’s release date.
One thing that made me uncomfortable was the…

Review: The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan
Review: The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan
I didn’t realize how heavy this book would be. Like mentally heavy. I didn’t know it talked about suicide and depression. If I had known I probably would have put it off longer. But I’m kind of glad that I read it and got over it. That sounds bad but it was a good book.
There’s heavy symbolism that I’m pretty sure flew over my head. There are a lot of metaphors too that I probably didn’t catch.…

Review: City of Bastards by Andrew Shvarts
Review: City of Bastards by Andrew Shvarts
This was a draaaag.
I read reviews looking for an excuse to DNF because I felt like I had picked up the beginning of a different series. There was a gap missing from the end of book one and the beginning of book two. They were attending school, university, as they called it. Someone ending up dying and the MC’s started investigating and it felt like I had picked up a Brittany Cavallaro novel.
It…
