The old man feels a cold chill down his spine as their eyes meet, and he’s quick to look off to the side to break the gaze. Don’t look at him like that. 

     “ … I’m doing better. “ It’s just as much of an affirmation to himself as it is to this ghost before him. “ I’ve– I’ve done much better for myself, these last couple years, you know. I’ve stumbled upon a few realizations by now. “ 

          eyes practically roll back into her skull at his comment. “ i’m dead, leonard, i shouldn’t even be here. ” she moves -- gliding easily across the floor and taking a seat in a chair across from him. her eyes, however, don’t leave him as his do her.

          “ well -- too bad you couldn’t have stumbled on some realizations while i were still alive, huh? ” another cold, blank stare in his direction. head tilts to the side in the slightest and she leans back in her seat, making herself comfortable. 

          she would go -- eventually.

          “ so tell me, leonard, ” she says rounding the corner of the room. “ am i still everything you remember me to be? ” a twirl, arms spread out by her sides before she stops, stares him right in the eyes. “ your precious allison... ” blank, lost stare. “ just couldn’t let me go, could you? ”

I think she always sort of resented Leonard for that part. And that’s probably why she never really had a connection with Lina either. That gifset just made me think of her meeting someone else after she enlisted. And her pretending there was no husband or daughter because in her mind she wasn’t likely to see them again anyway. She had left without intentions of ever coming home anyway.]
