Finally got around to ordering myself a copy of The Case of Kindall, K. (Kindall K # 1) with the new cover art and matte cover finish.

I'm so happy with the decision to change the cover on it - it feels really nice!

It's a little darker than intended, but the lighting differences (like the nighttime shadows etc) came out better than I expected on it.

Also my phone doesn't want to capture the colours properly as I'm seeing them, so here's another couple of pictures to show it better (feat. my freeze dried coffee photobombing in the background):

The Ninao Incident is finished! 🎉 And what I thought would be 60,000 words essentially became double that at 119,995 words!! :'D

I've uploaded the paperback and hardcover versions, so those will hopefully be available soon! I'll have the ebook (Kindle/ePUB) versions up within the next day!

Hardcover proofcopy came ✨

It came earlier than expected, which means there won't be the delay in publishing it / making the hardcover version available (as I thought there would be)

There's only some minor formatting edits I need to do for this one, too (not including the general edits I'm busy working away at)!

I'm really happy with how this book has turned out 😭 (after so much trial and error with KK1-KK3 in figuring stuff out haha)

The Ninao Incident paperback proof copy arrived yesterday. It thic (~400 pages). I was only expecting it to be ~60,000 words. It's now double that (~119,000 words).

It's got the wrong cover on it - I accidentally uploaded an earlier draft of the cover (or hadn't updated) before submitting the order for it.

This is what it's supposed to be looking like (and with a cover image on the spine, too):

I'm so happy with how this book has turned out following the other three (KK1-KK3) - it's taken a lot of navigating trial & error, figuring out publishing and printing issues, but I feel like I've finally reached a point of making the books feel a bit more "well published".

With that, I've been considering revamping the cover artwork for KK1-KK3 ✨ I've got a bit of time for art over the holiday break, so I'm going to see if I can finish them in time for the release of The Ninao Incident. I've had a clear idea of new cover art for The Case of Kindall, K. (KK1) - similar to this art I just did, but with the Village Park incident. The Redemption of Kindall, K. (KK2) will be relatively the same concept to what it is. As for The Deliverance of Kyle Kindall (KK3), that's yet to be decided on.

The current covers worked for what resources I had at the time, but now that I feel my art has gotten a bit better, and I feel more confident in my art, I want to draw something better for the story 📚

That is, until Yuuki is kidnapped and goes missing.

Timothy and his son, Joshua, narrowly escape their own kidnapping. While the Harrison family deal with the immediate implications, search efforts find nothing.

Finally, three days later, Yuuki is found locked in an old garden shed in rural Ninao. In the wake of his rescue, the Harrisons try to keep their family – and Yuuki – together. But trauma of the incident leaves Yuuki in particular struggling, and forced to face the bewildering question accompanying it:

The Ninao Incident [WIP] update

Finally gained some momentum again on this! Word count is now at ~77,000. The original estimate was ~60,000, so it's shaping up to be a more written out story than I thought it would end up as!

I'm not 100% of publishing date yet, since my brain keeps going on hiatus and the story is harder to write than anticipated.

But I'm currently thinking Nov '21 - Jan '22. Estimating word count to end up < 90,000!
