i dislike DanLady purely because i feel that a romantic interpretation of their relationship is the most boring option i could pick, and there’s no chemistry between them in that way. at all.

they like each other, they’re best friends, but neither of them have the mental/emotional capacity for a ‘traditional’ romantic relationship right now and it feels so horribly forced.

Dante is not getting involved with Lady when there’s decades of history between them, weighted with a bond that’s best left unspoken. it feels like such a wank to me personally to go, ‘oh well actually it’s romantic!’ like… huh.

again, just my personal preference. and it’s also stated as such in game, but whatever.

i think my biggest issue with DanLady is how often people claim they’re ‘canon’ or ‘implied’ when that’s just… not the case. i dislike that some people seemingly cannot view a relationship between a man and a woman without there being romantic subtext, when that’s ignoring, well, everything.

all power to you if you like DanLady, and i’m not attacking you, i just don’t see the appeal when touting romance as their main bond ignores everything else and forces their relationship into a neat little box that’s frankly boring.
