An employee at the bookstore complemented my Cal Kestis button while I was checking out, and I got so excited. Obviously I showed him the Cal figure I bring everywhere with me too, we talked about it for a little :)

Made my whole day, because it's not everyday someone recognizes him, much less makes a comment on it!!

Saw the new Fantastic 4 movie today, it was pretty great for what it was (a marvel movie)

I think The Corinthian and Johanna being bisexual and pansexual doesn't negate the fact that portraying opposite-sex relationships as more positive and healthy than same sex relationships is homophobic.

These two things can exist together.

You can have a character who likes multiple genders, but if their relationships with characters of the same sex are portrayed like they were in the show, than that's homophobic.

If their opposite sex relationships are supposed to be the better version of themselves, and the same-sex relationships are supposed to represent an evil or negative aspect of their life, that's not good lmao

You just now have two queer characters with incredibly homophobic writing.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the relationship they gave the Corinthian and Johanna Constantine?

I mean, they could be great friends, I'm sure of it, but I am not at all a fan of the romantic tension they gave the two.

The entire reason the Corinthian was created was for gay men, the fear of being queer and all that (very scuffed summary, I know I got bits wrong lol), and to make him interested in her is just ... It rubs me the wrong way. I get he's different from the first, but to just kinda erase his queerness?

Obviously it's mentioned, and I suppose he could easily just be bisexual now, but I've always seen him as exclusively gay, and I'd like it to stay that way.

Maybe I'm just being nit-picky, fussing over nothing, but it's whatever. It's not a huge thing, I'll be bitter about it for awhile but eventually I'll get over it, I'm sure.

Went to a local con today (going back tomorrow), so here's a haul for today!

SO HAPPY with all the Star Wars stuff I got!! You guys have NO IDEA how happy I was when I saw the Cal Kestis figure and print, I was literally jumping up and down, clapping my hands, and repeating 'oh my god' too many times to count (I'm not even joking).
