is it bad to not evolve my starter? i never thought he wanted to so i never did is that bad :( do i need to evolve him??

If your pokemon doesn’t want to evolve that’s COMPLETELY okay. My bf has had an Oshawott since he was 14, who has never seemed interested in evolving. Some pokemon just don’t want to.

There’s definitely an issue in society with not WANTING pokemon to evolve because then they stop being “cute” or whatever, but if your pokemon doesn’t want too, then there’s no reason to worry about it.

I’ve been seeing that “starter trend” becoming popular again, and I cannot believe it. This happens every couple months or so, and it’s genuinely disheartening that we never learn from it. Do NOT get a starter pokemon just for the aesthetic, then put them back up for adoption when the trend ‘ends’. I don’t know why people are doing this. Starter pokemon are INCREDIBLY easy for new Pokemon trainers or for families, and usually, if they’re treated with respect and not like PROPS they’ll stay with you forever. Instead, there’s a bunch of half-evolved/never evolved starters sitting in shelters who can be violent and paranoid because they were never treated right.

If you’re thinking about getting a starter pokemon, do you actually want a companion? Or do you want a toy for your social media?
