Hilariously I keep forgetting that New Orleans does and did Mardi Gras differently than we do (istg even saying that is going to dox me) I've just been crying laughing at the mental image of him covered in plastic beads and getting pelted with moon pies.

I have been to Mardi Gras exactly once, and not the New Orleans one. Because even though it’s only about an hour away from where I live, my entire family treats New Orleans like it’s 10000x worse than Baton Rouge. From what I’ve heard of the New Orleans Mardi Gras parade, there are topless women and everyone goes apeshit. Other, smaller versions occur all throughout the state.

Getting back on track…yeah, Alastor would probably love Mardi Gras. But, depending on his opinion of strawberries, he might like Ponchatoula’s Strawberry Festival too. There were BEIGNETS. With STRAWBERRY FILLING.

Oh, just remembered—I recently went on a trip to the Antique District, and I found these little beauties:
