Jay Z takes his music off Spotify
The Rapper's catalogue can still be found on his own streaming service, Tidal, and on Apple Music
ay Z has removed the majority of his music from Spotify, with just a few early albums and collaborations left on the streaming service.
The only remaining Jay Z albums on Spotify are his 1997 records In My Lifetime Vol. 1 and Reasonable Doubt, plus 1998's Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life.

Collision Course, the album he recorded with Linkin Park in 2004, a handful of singles including his Kanye West collaborations 'N****s in Paris' and 'Clique', and a remix of 'All The Way Up' [Fat Joe and Remy Ma].
Spotify confirmed to Billboard that "some" of Jay Z's music had been removed "at the request of the artist".
Jay Z's solo work is also almost entirely absent from Amazon Music's catalogue, but can still be found of Apple Music with the exception of The Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt.
Fortune notes that the removal of Jay Z's music has taken place incrementally, which is possibly due to licensing agreements involving third parties. It makes sense given that Jay Z co-owns a rival service that has a bigger focus on artist exclusives.
Jay Z bought Tidal for $56 million in 2015, promising listeners that it would be a platform with better sound quality, and with better compensation for artists who hosted their music on the site.
However the service is still significantly smaller than industry leaders Spotify and Apple Music: Spotify boasts around 100 million listeners and 50 million paid subscriptions. Apple Music has about 20 million subscribers, while Tidal is believed to have less than 3 million.
Jay Z made a surprise appearance on Frank Ocean's new track 'Biking' last week.
Artist also appeared to confirm rumours of an infidelity in his marriage for the first time Jay Z has revealed he and Beyonce worked on an album together around the time she was making Lemonade.
In an interview with the New York Times, the rapper and business mogul opened up on personal issues such as his rumoured infidelity, which appeared to be addressed on his album 4:44 following accusations on Beyonce's critically acclaimed album.
Jay Z also confirmed that he and his wife had worked on music together when she released Lemonade, and said that they "still have a lot of that music" which is unreleased. "We were using our art almost like a therapy session," he explained, adding he was "really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released".
Explaining why they stayed together rather than divorce, he added: "You know, most people walk away, and the divorce rate is like 50 per cent or something, 'cause most people can't see themselves.
"The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone's face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself."
Of the 4:44 track "Smile", where he revealed his mother was a lesbian, he said "we never spoke about it" although he said he had known his mother was gay since he was a teenager.
"Now we start having these beautiful conversations, and just really getting to know each other... And then she was sharing that she was in love," he said. "She can be herself (now). She doesn't have to hide for her kids of feel like she's embarrassing her kids. It was a much different time then. (Now) she can just live her full life, her whole life, and be her."
Jay Z's latest album was recently named among the top 30 of the year by The Independent. It was praised for how the artist opened up about his personal life "more than he ever has previous", and how it was "the depth of thought and self-flagellation on this record that makes it stand out among the rest".

Netflix reaches escape velocity but speed of light is another matter
Physics states that as your velocity increases so does your mass, or resistance to acceleration. Corporate physics is no different: The faster you grow the tougher it gets to turn in blockbuster numbers

Netflix was the brightest star in TV-land even before it knocked Wall Street’s estimates out of the park. After adding 5.3m new subscribers in just three months - analysts had pencilled in 4.5m - it has become a supernova. “We think Netflix has reached escape velocity,” gushed Piper Jaffray’s Michael Olson in a research report.
With the shares increasing in value by nearly two thirds in just 12 months, the company passed that threshold a long time ago.
If it meets the current quarter’s forecast of 6.3m new additions, its customer base will top 115.6m.
The company is creating and releasing an increasing amount of original content, such as House of Cards and Narcos, and wants to protect it from people who are illegally watching it for free.
A new job posting spotted by TorrentFreak shows that Netflix is looking to recruit a copyright and content protection coordinator.
This person would be tasked with boosting the company’s anti-piracy efforts, and making it harder for people to illegally access Netflix content through platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Periscope, Google Search, Bing Search, VK and DailyMotion.
“We have a growing number of Originals launching each month that need to be protected from piracy,” the posting reads.
“The growing Global Copyright & Content Protection Group is looking to expand its team with the addition of a coordinator. He or she will be tasked with supporting the Netflix Global Copyright & Content Protection Group in its internal tactical take down efforts with the goal of reducing online piracy to a socially unacceptable fringe activity.”

Spotify and Universal Music announce plans to host biggest artists' albums on Premium-only service
Spotify and Universal Music announce plans to host biggest artists' albums on Premium-only service
Users on the free service will have to wait for two weeks before they can hear certain albums
Spotify has confirmed that new albums by some Universal Music artists will only be available to Premium subscribers in their first two weeks for release.
The two companies announced the deal which means users of Spotify's ad-supported free tier will not be able to access its full catalogue of music.

Customers will have to decide whether to subscribe to the paid-for tier, which begins at £9.99 per month, or wait for two weeks before they can hear albums by some of their favourite artists.
UMG artists include Adele, Lorde, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Beck, Bastille and The xx.
Singles by Universal Music artists will still be available to all Spotify users. The service currently boasts 100 million users and 50 million subscribers.
Meanwhile the streaming service's largest competitors - Apple and Tidal - continue to maintain their paid-only services, although both offer time-limited free trials.
Daniel Ek, Spotify's chairman and chief executive, said: "This partnership is built on a mutual love of music, creating value for artists and delivering for fans. We will be working together to help break new artists and connect new and established artists with a broadening universe of fans in ways that will wow them both.
"We know that not every album by every artist should be released the same way, and we've worked hard with UMG to develop a new, flexible release policy."
Lucian Grange, chairman of UMG, said: "Today, streaming represents the majority of the business. Our challenge is transforming that upturn into sustainable growth. In a market this dynamic, one evolving more rapidly than ever before, success requires creative and continual re-evaluation of how best to bring artists' music to fans."
Taylor Swift album 'reputation' lands on Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music
Taylor Swift's hit album reputation has finally landed on streaming services Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon.
Fans first spotted the record on the sites in Australia and the Phillipines, and it is now available to stream in the UK.
Previously the pop star's sixth album was only available as a digital download or as a physical copy. Swift announced via her Instagram that it would be available on all streaming services from midnight on 1 December.
Despite the decision to temporarily keep it off streaming services, reputation quickly became the biggest first-week sales of 2017, shifting more than 1.2 million copies in the US.
The move is a less drastic version of the one made by Adele's team when she released her album 25, which was not available on streaming services until seven months after its initial release.

Swift's album was recently listed on The Independent's top 30 of the year. It was praised for producer Jack Antonoff's work, along with Swift's songwriting skills and "one of [her] greatest talents... to encapsulate those small moments, often in a new relationship, that you as a listener cannot".

Hurricane Harvey: Beyonce pledges to help victims affected Houston floods
Hurricane Harvey: Beyonce pledges to help victims affected Houston floods:
Lemonade artist, who was born in Houston, said she had residents "in her prayers" Beyonce has pledged to help "as many" victims of Hurricane Harvey as she can, as her home city of Houston, Texas is told to expect more rainfall.
The Lemonade star said: "I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help."
She said that she was working with her charity and her pastor to "implement a plan to help", and posted an Instagram tribute telling residents they were in her prayers.
Beyonce, who grew up in the city's Third Ward, has often referred to her home in her work, including in songs "Run The World (Girls)", "Flawless" and "Formation".

Many celebrities have come forward to help with relief efforts as Houston battles unprecedented levels of rain, with at least nine killed in the storm.
Country star Chris Young pledged $100,000, while comedian Kevin Hart donated $25,000, and actress Sandra Bullock contributed $1 million.
Coldplay, who had to postpone their concert in Houston last week due to the hurricane, wrote a song for those affected by the floods and debuted the track in Miami.
Officials estimate that more than 30,000 residents need shelter.
and more These Christmas tree toppers of inspirational women are nothing short of amazing
Do you worship the ground Beyoncé walks on? Well, now you can idolize the star atop your Christmas tree For anyone who loves Christmas, decorating your Christmas tree has to be one of the highlights of the festive period.
The fairy lights, the baubles, the jubilant melody of Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” playing in the background… it can be a pretty magical experience.
Well, you can now make your Christmas tree even more spectacular thanks to these Christmas toppers from Women To Look Up To. Spend your Christmas looking up to some of the world’s most inspirational female icons, including sporting legend Serena Williams, global superstar Beyoncé and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
The idea for the toppers first came about last year when co-founders Savannah and Dom found themselves feeling fed up with their usual Christmas fairy.
“Last Christmas we looked up at the top of our Christmas Tree where the same old frumpy fairy we had been putting up for years sat looking down on us,” they said. “We just felt uninspired, like she was a bit of a forgotten figure, even as a Catholic family, we didn’t really understand why it was such a tradition to place this outdated representation of a woman, or sometimes a man as the story turns out.
“Traditions can be borrowed and change with the needs of the times, as we felt the need was definitely there, in a world where we need positive role models more than ever before.”
So, Savannah and Dom set out creating their extraordinary Christmas toppers with a four-step 3D printing process.

The Killers praise brilliant 'Mr Brightside' pub sing-a-long at Irish Funeral
A video showing Brian O'Sullivan belting out an incredible, passionate rendition of The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" in tribute to his late friend has gone viral; and now the band themselves have responded.
Mr. O'Sullivan initiated the sing-a-long at the wake of Ger 'Farmer' Foley, which was held at Falveys Pub in Killorglin, County Kerry; following the funeral of Mr. Foley earlier that day.
"He was the salt of the earth, he will never be replaced and we will remember him forever in our lives," Mr. O'Sullivan preceded the sing-a-long with. "I think that the most appropriate song that you can get for this man is "Mr. Brightside"."
The band tweet a link to the video accompanied with the message, referencing the band's frontman Brandon Flowers; "Brian O'Sullivan, if Brandon ever needs a fill-in, we're calling you! May we all have friends like #farmersrule."
Peter Teahan, who was present at the wake and filmed the tribute, stated that the 45-year-old Mr. Foley, who had cystic fibrosis, was an incredibly popular member of the community. "It certainly wasn't a normal Thursday night in Falveys," he told BBC News, "A lot of people had been getting up to sing, one person had a guitar and did Raglan Road."
"Brian was a good friend of Ger's, and that was one of Ger's favourite songs, so he got everyone going," he continued. "Most people in the area knew Ger, he was very popular. It was a very good send-off for him."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi | Snoke is more powerful than Darth Vader, says Andy Serkis.
Actor spoke again about mysterious villain
In a magazine published on Reddit (via HH), Andy Serkis spoke about Supreme Snoke Leader in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Asked if the character is stronger than Darth Vader and the Emperor, the actor was categorical:
"Oh no doubt, he has unlimited resources, let's put it that way."
Serkis also commented on the villain's appearance: "There is a fragility and damage to Snoke, his face is sunken, there are scars around his mouth, his body twisted, but without delivering much, he is strong. He is the leader of the first order, but he has his own plans. He is a cruel manipulator. "
Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Benicio Del Toro and Carrie Fisher are in the cast of Episode VIII. Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 14 this year. In addition to directing, Rian Johnson is also the screenwriter of the film.
And the new news we have is that Disney announces a new trilogy developed by Rian Johnson
Disney has announced that Rian Johnson is developing a new Star Wars trilogy with Lucasfilm. Johnson will be responsible for structuring the three films and will work under another name known to the franchise, Ram Bergman, to produce the new project (via ComicBook).
Disney plans live-action TV series to debut in 2019
The new trilogy will be separated from the original saga and in addition to introducing new characters, promises to be set in "a corner of the galaxy never explored by Star Wars" - check the tweet with the official announcement: In May 1977, Star Wars, the first movie of a billion-dollar movie franchise in theaters, earned its creator George Lucas enormous prestige and an empire in licensed products. From the outset, more than a creative vision of a concise universe and populated by strange and fascinating beings, the filmmaker took a different approach to the commercialization of the film - being able to stay with the merchandising rights of his work, which made him one of the the most powerful men in the entertainment industry - enacting the demise of Old Hollywood and its current business format.
"We all love working with Rian in Star Wars: The Last Jedi," said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. "He's a creative force, and watching him do The Last Jedi from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do incredible things with the blank screen of this new trilogy."
In a joint statement, Johnson and Bergman thanked the opportunity. "Star Wars is the greatest product of modern mythology and we feel very fortunate to have contributed to it. We can not wait to continue this legacy in this new series of films." Obviously I hope you like The Last Jedi. But, man, now I REALLY hope you like The Last Jedi. "[End of update]

Star Wars - The Last Jedi 'has women dominating the galaxy
Carrie Fischer's death caused a major concussion in the Force, but the women of "The Last Jedi" pledged Sunday to honor their legacy in the new movie "Star Wars".
The cast gathered on Sunday (3) in a secret Los Angeles location with director Rian Johnson less than two weeks into the movie's opening.

"You see women who are not big and strong just because they act like men. They're doing something different," said Gwendoline Christie, 39, who plays Captain Phasma, who commands the stormtroopers.
"And you are also seeing a character developed or developing that is showing some complex character traits. I am delighted that something as legendary as 'Star Wars' has decided to reflect our society," she said.
"The Last Jedi," which was filmed on the west coast of Ireland and at the Pinewood studios near London, shows the return of characters presented two years ago in "The Awakening of the Force."
Christie joined the rest of the cast: Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, the heroine of the film, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domnhall Gleeson and Mark Hamill, who returns to the role of Luke Skywalker.
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" also includes new actors in the saga, such as Kelly Marie Tran, who plays the worker Rose Tico, and Laura Dern, who represents Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo.
Ridley, 25, said she grew up in a liberal London home where sexism was not a problem. She said she was amazed at the response generated by her character in "The Awakening of the Force."
"When I got involved, I knew it was a very serious thing, but the answer went far beyond anything I could have imagined. I was just 'oh, oh yeah,'" he said.
Ren Knights should appear more
The Knights of Ren, order of which Kylo is part, must appear more in the film. At least that's what the G1 discovered while visiting the movie studios. In the area where all the weapons of production were stored, an entire shelf was intended only for the instruments of the mysterious characters.
And they will not necessarily use lightsabers like the villain. One of them, incidentally, has appeared briefly in "The Awakening of the Force" wearing his arm cannon.
Lando Calrissian can be remembered
Among the weapons of production are also some based on those used by the City of Nuvens police, run by Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) in "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980). This may indicate the return of the floating city, or even of the character.
Read is still in charge
Nothing changed with the death of Carrie Fisher in December of last year, five months after the end of the recordings. Leia remains the commanding general of the rebel army. Rian Johnson said that, amid the pain of her loss, she decided not to change the script - and added that Carrie's performance in the film is the best tribute to her trajectory in the saga.

'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' wins first trailer; Look
Star Wars: The Last Jedi" arrives on December 14 to (at least begin to) solve some mysteries of the new phase of the saga. Why did Luke Skywalker isolate himself? Who are Rey's parents? Where did Supreme Leader Snoke come from?
As fans figure out some crazy theories, other facts about the eighth installment of the franchise are already taking shape. The G1 visited production studios in London and watched 13 minutes of the new movie in Mexico City to reveal some of them (with some small spoilers).
1. Rey loses fear of the lightsaber
If in "The Awakening of the Force" (2015), Rey (Daisy Ridley) resisted using the lightsaber before the final fight with Kylo (Adam Driver), in the new film she shows that she definitely lost the fear of the Jedi Knights.
There's a long scene in "The Last Jedi" that shows the heroine practicing punches with skill under the eyes of an impressed Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

2. First Order has new 'super-gun'
The First Order will have a new "super-weapon". The producers define the Megadestroyer spacecraft as a mix of a Destroyer, a classic part of the Empire fleet, with the Death Star. In it will happen a scene that will unite General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Kylo Ren and the Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis).
3. The Tico sisters are presented (and there is a tragedy)
New in the story, Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) is a mechanic of the Resistance who plays an important role in the conflict against the First Order. It is known that she will be an important ally of Finn (John Boyega) and that uses a necklace relevant to its history.
But even more significant than the accessory is what happens to your sister. During a battle alongside Poe (Oscar Isaac), a Resistance gunner who appears to be Paige Tico (Veronica Ngo) puts her life at risk to destroy the enemy base. The scene indicates a tragic end to the character.
4. High-tech casino is scenery
The Singing Bight planet, a kind of high-tech casino, will set the stage for an important yet unenlightened part of the plot. It is controlled by a group that not only learns to live outside the conflicts between Empire and Rebel Alliance, but profits from the "stellar wars" present in the trilogies. 5. There is very, very humorous
Rian Johnson, director of "The Last Jedi," has said a few times that, for him, a "Star Wars" movie must be, above all, a fun adventure. Apparently he paid special attention to the fun part.
Although the film goes to some "darker places" than the previous ones - as Johnson himself has already anticipated -, he has jokes in most of the scenes
6. Porgs will conquer your heart (and toy stores)
Get ready to see them in clothes, pajamas, school supplies, home appliances, and especially toy stores. The Porgs, new cute creatures of the franchise, promise to be the fever of this summer.
A mixture of hamsters, penguins and aliens, the bulging eyes are native birds of the planet Ahch-To, where Luke hides. According to Johnson, they were inspired by parrots living in Skellig Michael, an island adjacent to Ireland where scenes from the film were shot.
7. There are other intelligent creatures in Ahch-to
On the visit to the studios, still in May 2016, a room had its walls covered with drawings of an alien race that seemed a direct evolution of marine creatures. His identity was treated with the greatest secret at the time, but it has now been revealed that they are the Caretakers, intelligent creatures that inhabit the planet of Ahch-to.
With clothes that make them look like nurses, and living in primitive huts, they tolerate Luke's presence and have a certain connection to the Force.

Following the recent success of their international tour, Dire Straits Legacy returns to Brazil with their new tour in January 2018 and announces that music legend Trevor Horn joins the band - on bass - and Steve Ferrone on drums.
As one of the most important producers of this generation, Trevor Horn is a true legend in the music industry. After forming the band The Buggles and recording the hit "Video Killed the Radio Star", produced some of the hits that defined the 1980s, such as ABC's "Lexicon of Love", Yes's "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and "Relax "," Two Tribes "and" The Power of Love ", hits Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Trevor also produced hits for Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Marc Almond, Barry Manilow, Cher, Boyzone, 10cc, Bryan Ferry, John Legend, Lisa Stansfield, Robbie Williams, Grace Jones, Simple Minds and many others.
Dire Straits Legacy shows relive the unforgettable and magical atmosphere of the great UK band with a unique and emotional show to enjoy these timeless songs.

"Dire Straits Legacy is a concept show to celebrate the music of Dire Stratis with love and passion" - Phil Palmer.
Last May, his first international tour - with unforgettable shows in France, Switzerland and Luxembourg - arrived in South America so his Brazilian fans could finally hear memorable songs such as "Money for Nothing", "So Far Away" , "Sultans of Swing", "Walk of Life" and many other hits played live by former Dire Straits members. The tour was so successful that the band will return to Brazil in January for a new series of shows, some of which will be confirmed.
Dire Straits Legacy is a constantly evolving project, moving away from the cliché of reunion or tribute band, keeping alive the memory of these songs in their live shows, like: "Romeo ande Juliet", "Sultans of Swing", "Money for Nothing, "" Tunnel of Love, "" Walk of Life, "or tracks such as" When It Comes to You, "" You and Your Friend, "" Every Every Street, "the first Wild West End album and many other hits.
Many members of Dire Straits joined the project during those years, but in 2016, Alan Clark joined the band: he is the vocal keyboardist for Dire Straits, who joined them in 1980. Together with Alan Clark on stage will be Phil Palmer (musical director, guitar and voice) and Danny Cummings (percussion), both of whom participated in Dire Straits "On Every Street Tour" 91 -'92. Renowned saxophonist Mel Collins, who was a member of Dire Straits from 1983 to 1985 and played the famous Alchemy Live Album and EP Twisting By The Pool EP, Steve Ferrone (drums) and Trevor Horn (bass). The two Italians who join the band are guitarist and vocalist Marco Caviglia and keyboardist Primiano Dibiase.

The Good Place: That nice series to see
Well, I've been thinking about how to start writing about The Good Place. The series has been in Netflix has a short time and was created by Michael Schur. Michael, for example, has a number of famous series, such as: Saturday Night Live (writer), The Office (co-producer), Parks and Recreation (co-creator), Brookly Nine Nine co-producer).
The series portrays the story of Eleanor (Kristen Bell) who, after dying, will end up in the "Good Place" where all the people who have done good in their lives go. There she is greeted by Michael (Ted Danson), the architect of the place. There Eleanor is taken to the house of her dreams and meets her soul mate, Chidi (William Jackson Harper). The problem is, Eleanor is in the wrong place. The real Eleanor, a lawyer who dedicated her life to humanitarian causes, went to the "bad spot" while Bell's character, a selfish telemarketing clerk took her place. After this deception, the "Good Place" begins to suffer imbalances and strange things begin to happen (things like flying shrimps and craters).

The actors give an interpretation show and they deliver great characters. Kristen Bell really gives the impression that Eleanor is a detestable person but wants to improve. It is amazing to see how it is maturing with the passing of the episodes and it is not something forced, it is natural. Each episode is a lesson the character learns. Ted Danson is in one of his funniest roles. The high point of the series is in charge of Janet (D'Arcy Carden), the robot assistant of Michael. The actors demonstrate chemistry, which facilitates the recognition of each of them.

The design of the series demonstrates how things in the "good place" are quite perfect. Stores of frozen yogurt in every corner, giant mansions and lots of vibrant color. All well pleasing to the eye. The Good Place is a series to watch without pretense of maratonar, is extremely delicious to see and that deals with subjects like ethics and moral of a not tiring way. Completely recommended.

U2 presents 'Songs of Experience', new album by the Irish band
U2, who was in October in Brazil for performances in São Paulo with "The Joshua Tree Tour" has news for fans! "Songs of Experience," the band's new album, is now available in major stores and all as digital platforms. "Songs of Experience" is the group's 14th studio album and 13 unpublished tracks collection. The disc arrives in the versions Standard and Deluxe (this one with 17 songs), besides the vinyl.
The second single from the album, titled "Get Out of Your Own Way", is now available. The first, 'You're the best thing about me', was released on September 6th. A band also released in August the track 'The Blackout', in a video performance.
Recorded in Dublin, New York and Los Angeles, "Songs of Experience" was completed in 2017, under the influence of advice given by Irish poet, writer and professor Brendan Kennely to Bono Vox "to write as if dead." The result is a collection of lyrics in the form of intimate letters to places and people close to the heart of the artist: his family, his friends, his fans and himself. "[...] The band stands at a time when they balance precisely greatness and grace, then take advantage of their post-punk past and incredible facility for pop. [...] It is a mythological creation that presents an eternal magic of music, made by a band that refuses at the same time this magic is over. "- American Rolling Stone magazine, which considered the album the 3rd best of 2017.
"Songs Of Experience" accompanies the 2014 album, "Songs Of Innocence". The two titles were inspired by the collection of eighteenth-century poems, "Songs of Innocence and Experience," by William Blake. The album debuted at # 1 on iTunes Brazil and # 2 on the American iTunes, with a track "Love Is All We A Left" in 16th place among the most downloaded songs.
Produced by Jacknife Lee and Ryan Tedder, with Steve Lillywhite, Andy Barlow and Jolyon Thomas, the album had a cover made by Anton Corbijn with a picture of the band members' sons, teenagersEli Hewson and Sian Evans.
