Note
I recently watched James DIllenburgs Cat's Musical and was wondering if you had more information on which cat is which? They have a name list at the end but I can't tell which name goes to which cat on somre of the more obscure names, If you had any extra ideas or theories on who is who i'd appreciate it! It also has a female skimble which is absolutely fascinating!
I’m afraid I’m not familiar with that production past just knowing it exists so I can’t help you and I won’t be looking into it as this blog is inactive due to me being too busy to run it so I can only wish you luck with finding more information.

Have you looked at any Swedish Productions ?
I don't remember if any of the productions here are Swedish I thought a few were but none come up with the search function so I'm probably wrong but I will not be adding any more productions since this blog is more or less dead

Why do productions of musicals (mostly foreign ones ) change the choreography ?
I genuinely have no idea, I assume they just want to make the show different from the original and look and choreo is what they're allowed to change

I'd love to know more about Cats NQOMT 2006 if at all possible?
hi, thank you for your interest! unfortunately this is one of the more mysterious productions i've come across, the only reason i even found out it existed is because a few scattered images popped up while i was searching for pictures of the NQOMT 2019 production
the only information i've been able to find is the date, where it was performed (north queensland opera and music theatre), and those photos scattered around several sites including an actor's myspace page. If you look at the post i say "appears" a lot because the photos were very much the only information that exists of this production online. Unfortunately it's been 2 years since I've made that post and the sources for these images now seem so be gone. I can't find the myspace page and the theatre's page where the rest of the images were hosted is now gone and only leads to their main page. It seems their facebook is also no longer public so I can't even direct you there
The most i can do is direct you to their website here: https://www.nqomt.com.au/ if you want to contact them and ask about this production. They have a "contact us" section on the page so it's definitely worth a shot. Godspeed, sorry I couldn't provide more!

Has there ever been a non-replica that changed a lot of the lyrics? I suppose you could say that translations do that, but I guess what I’m asking is if there has been a production that changed the lyrics to the point that they’re clearly different from T. S. Eliot’s poems or the original songs influenced by his poems?
Not that I've come across, there's a lot of legal stuff when it comes to changing lyrics and I believe they would have to get ALW's approval to be able to do so, so i'm not surprised I haven't seen one

Okay, I have a question about the Tecklenburg production. Which German translation lyrics did they use? Did they use the translations that were used in Germany from 1986-2001, or did they use the translations that were used in Vienna in 1983? I was watching the Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer number, and I couldn't tell.
I haven’t a faintest clue unfortunately, I don’t speak german so I can’t tell the differences between them
if anyone knows please comment it on here or send an ask!
#i did try checking around to see if anywhere online had it listed but i found nothing#i know when i streamed it someone knew which it was but i can't remember however i think it may have been the vienna translation?#Anonymous#asks

In the set of victoria pictures you just posted, do you know who the brown cat riding those little motorcycles with her in the first picture is? The color pallette and vest remind me of their Munkustrap, but that's a completely different wig, pants and actor...
That’s Tumblebrutus!

Do you have any good pics of Victoria’s costume from the Thunerseespiele production? It’s one of my all time favourite Cats costumes!
Here’s some:

Mexico 2013 / Mexico Tour 2018
The Mexico 2013 production had brand new designs for the cats and included some variations to the show itself. The Growltiger segment was included, but omitted the Siamese as enemies, instead ending it after the lover’s duet. Many of the costumes for the cats were much more vibrant than the usual ones.
The Mexico 2018 Tour was nearly the same as the 2013 production, with both having been produced by Gerardo Quiroz. Some costumes were changed slightly.
The 2013 production ran from May 10th 2013 to December 30th 2014, while the 2018 tour ran from October 24th 2018 to December 22nd 2019.

What makes a production qualify as a non replica?
The Cats wiki defines it as “those which do not follow the format of the original creative team - typically using new costume designs, often changing about which characters perform which parts of the show, and sometimes making significant cuts to the material”
Personally, I look for productions that have significant changes in costume, setting, choreography, or story. Productions that are only partially non-replica are cool too, and I’m thinking of including more in the future while noting they’re only partial, but so far there’s only one of those on the blog.

Here are some guides to which character is which in MAČKY! I unfortunately could not put a face to every name on the cast list, but I tried my best. The name underneath their English name is what it was translated to in Slovak.
#cats the musical#MAČKY 2016#macky 2016#i had to do most of this by face matching the actors#also interesting note! munk plays growltiger in this#fixed- it's slovak not czech! but the two are very closely related languages hence my confusion
