I’m aware this blog has been dead for a good while, in all honesty I forgot about it due to BG3 devs throwing a hissy fit over Durgetash. Which WILL NOT stop me from writing more ramblings later on, but for now, I need to garner support for one of my mutuals.

Harper/Nikolai has been nothing but kind despite their dire circumstances, and I politely urge you to donate to their cause. Even if you cannot spare any funds, boosting/reblogging is ALWAYS appreciated. Let’s help them get out of a hellish situation.

Thinking about how Gortash was a "corrupting" influence in The Dark Urge's life. About how he distracted them from their duties, who they are suppose to be, what they're suppose to do. About how Gortash was, rather it be intentionally or unintentionally, undoing their indoctrination in Bhaal's church.

Bhaal's Church tells them they're a monster, no one will love them, they are a danger to all. Everyone is better off dead if they are alive. Durge didn't teach themself all of those self deprecating point-and-click dialogs.

Gortash tells them are not a monster, that their brilliant, that he likes them, their not a danger to him- everyone would better off if Durge (and himself) ruling them.

Like Gortash never actually just straight up tells Durge that being Bhaalists is bad (in fact I don't think he thinks that even, he doesn't care if they're a Bhaalists or not, if anything he would simply not like the extent Bhaal's influence over them), or ever tells them they should leave Bhaal's Church, but he does tell them they're the opposite of everything Bhaal's Church says they are, and we know that clearly has influenced Durge in someway (to the point of writing the prayer of forgiveness).

It's just neat.
