Stopped reading Batman fics because Ao3 is down. Started watching Sinners hours ago. Finished watching Sinners. Ordered food. Got the food. Heard the “Pick Poor Robin Clean” song in an edit. Reminded me of the Jason Todd edit with that song. Man, I could go for a fic!

Dick Grayson with a Hidden Disability Headcanons

I'm not specifying which one because I'm projecting, but also I think not specifying might make him more relatable to more people

He's still very much active and athletic, he just needs to be careful and take more frequent breaks

The day Bruce bought him compression socks was like one of the best days of his life because it helped him realize that he can still do stuff as long as he manages his pain and symptoms

He has a whole collection of different compression socks: bright colors, different fun patterns. He has a pair of hello kitty socks that Jason teases him about, but he still wears them regardless, accusing Jason of being jealous

Bruce tends to fuss over him without meaning to, and had a cooling system and compression built into his suit. He wanted to add a straw into a mask for water but Dick thought it was a bit much and didn't let him. Instead he carries a flask on his hip with water and added electrolytes in it.

Dick is the kind of person to throw up mid-fight and then immediately stand back up, ready to go. The villains kinda just stand there, shocked and debating if they still wanna rough this guy up, but Dick doesn't really give them a choice

He stops by this convenient store so often after battle for sugary and salty snacks that the cashier gives him a discount just for being Nightwing, and doesn't even question him being there anymore

He has a cane for when he's Dick Grayson and not Nightwing but it most often gets used to trip his brothers

Being Nightwing doesn't just suddenly mean he doesn't need his cane, he just refuses to use it and faces the consequences later. Bruce doesn't like this and even offered to build him one that could double as a weapon but Dick turned him down because he's internalized the idea that his enemies will think he's weak

Alfred has his specific diet memorized by heart and will fix him foods best suited for his needs

Jason used to go easy on him when they were younger and training together, but Dick had to tell him to just treat him normally, and that their enemies wouldn't go easy on him.

Now that Jason is bigger than him, he tries to pull the 'Wait wait go easy on me, I'm helpless,' card (mostly as a joke) but Jason knows better. They'll banter back and forth about it like, "Oh, but your enemies won't take it easy on you-" "Fuck off!"

One time Dick used his cane to trip Jason as he was walking by, so Jason snatched it and set it down across the room since Dick was too tired to get up and get it himself. ONLY his brothers are allowed to tease him like this since he knows that with them, it's all in good fun and they never take it too far

On particularly bad days he'll lay in Bruce or Jason's lap and just show them various memes or videos on his phone. They'd prefer to watch TV instead but Dick has never even heard of an 'attention span.'

For me it just ruins the flow and takes me out of the moment. I get why people add it, but it doesn’t always help enhance the writing the way they think it does.

I also have my headcanons/visuals for a character, and the art usually isn’t similar. There’s nothing wrong with that, again, my brain just gets thrown for a loop and it impacts the story.

At the end of the day though, a good story is a good story. I’ll read it regardless, because it’s someone else’s art I’m viewing.

Y’know I’ve kinda wondered about ppls opinion on this so I wanna ask:

The fanfic.net —> Wattpad—> Ao3 pipeline and its erosion needs to be studied. Especially as it’s disappearence leads to less quality fics on Ao3.

I have recently learned that I am actually scared of furries. On screen they’re fine, but I cannot be around them irl.
