Happy new year. I wanted to make a happy new year drawing and get my ass back into posting regularly but at the new year's party I might've fucked up my leg pretty bad.

Like needing operation bad.

So if anyone would like to commission me for even a symbolic price™ so I can afford to recover from having metal put in my foot without having to force myself out of the house I'd really appreciate it.

I especially like this little guy but that's probably because this evolution line is one of my personal favorites too. (Edit: I just realized they kinda look like non-binary flag gijinka 😭😭😭🤍🖤💜💛)

I'm having my watching Pokemon VGC era again and I feel inspired.

I need all moots and nonmoots to give me their favorite underrated pokemon they like. Please.

Any generation, any aesthetic. It's time to draw some gijinkas. Maybe I'll make them cyborg/mgr coded but no promises.

Samuraiden fans and other critters

Is it just me or are their designs awfully complimentary

Like

Yin and Yang complimentary.

From the very start they kept the mgr design of Raiden mostly his iconic black with the contrasting white hair and pale complexion

Black heavy design with light on the bottom. And the fact that in concept art the right arm and pec was lighter matching the Sam's cybernetic arm being darker drives me CRAZY.

Sam has the opposite palette. Light outfit with dark focused on top. The dark hair and arm. I could rant for solid half an hour about symbolism of those color choices and why I color code Sam with khaki/green hues in my art.

Don't get me started on the way the cybernetic arm and his headpiece fit the hues of Desperado cybernetic models and chip away at his identity.

The red and the blue in the concept art of Raiden's and Sam's swords too oh god I'm gonna be sick.

What's insane for me is that they easily could've gone with other contrast ratios for Sam, and even tested shifting the armor colors but NOTHING came close to the parallel he has with Raiden in the finished product.

Anyways that's all folks enjoy my bullshit rants

Actually, form concept art Monsoon has one on his forehead as well, along with Sundowner.

I'm assuming it's just a this was just a thing when first cyborg bodies freshly went into circulation that the convenience of the placement of the codebar wasn't in mind and only later it got adjusted with newer models.

It is lorewise safe to assume that those three critters were one of the first to get so heavily replaced with cybernetics.

I'm also making shit up because the codebars are there just because they look cool probably but still.

Considering Khamsin also has a codebar on his forehead just not in the dead middle, my theory is pretty much bullshit, but nice to think about. (But for my theory to work I always remove it when drawing him because I'm silly).

For me the funniest part must be that the codebar on the visor/helmet of Monsoon wasn't enough, he had to get it branded under it too. Poor guy. If having his eyes replaced with tubes wasn't enough.

In love with the fact that while the other cyborgs have their bar codes on more convinient/easy to his places Raiden has it branded straight on his fucking forhead. How much do y'all think he costs I'd say like a buck probably

He will be laying in the middle of my new dorm until it feels homely enough to remove him. This is his fate now. I hope I don't forget him and step on him.

I hate that my room for the next 5+ years has tiles but there's nothing I can do about it. At least I got my own fridge
