your chalk art is a treat!! I adore it! Reminds me how much I want to get around to doing chalk art in my community <3
Do it! There’s no time like the present to become the weird person that brings chalk to things. Our communities need more random art.

St. Charles Pride was today and I brought my chalk after getting to show my niblings around their first pride. It was hot and I only had, like, two hours, so I did another Optimus Pride. I couldn’t drive my car up to it this time so I did the best I could with the pictures because he once again got very large. Happy Pride everyone! Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.

Today was a nice day for chalk! There was an event going on at the dam and I did my usual thing of showing up to an event with my bags of chalk. They remembered me from last year too. At least it wasn’t as hot as last year, but it was super windy.
I had a handful of kiddos join me and draw stuff too, which always rocks. Do art. Have fun. Be whimsical!

This weekend was Anime St Louis and I finally busted out the chalks again. It was a little sprinkly and I couldn’t do anything Saturday because I had to leave early to go to my niece’s birthday party to teach her and her friends how to paint. But here’s Sailor Moon (I just recently rewatched the series), and RotTMNT Michaelangelo. Enjoy, my chalk friends!

So last weekend was the Alton Pride festival and I just had to go even though it started at 11am and I’m usually in bed by then on work days now. It was stupid hot for a day in mid September, but I still needed to draw this. Optimus Pride says “freedom is the right of all sentient beings.”
The little silver thing at the bottom of the full length picture is the window to my car, which I was standing on top of to get a decent shot of the whole thing, which, as you can see from the picture of my face next to his hand, is very large. I’d say he was at least 9 feet tall. I was sweating so much I was dripping and had to go bum napkins and paper towels from some of the vendors. I didn’t blend the colors like I usually do because I was getting so tired, but it turned out great.

Reposting cuz I posted to the wrong account. Oops. I did these a while ago at the farmers market and totally forgot to post them. I took a picture of toon Link at an angle because I thought it looked good that way. Also, I had an older woman be very confused and ask if it was Tinkerbell I was drawing.

Almost forgot to post these arts from the farmers market last weekend. So many people recognized Bluey and Bingo and I had a bunch of little kids draw with me. Also, I gave Meowth a speech bubble that said “Meowth! Dat’s right!”
I had a little girl tell me I was a very talented artist and the dad told me if his 3-year-old said it it’s true because she never lies. Then her 5-ish-year-old sister piped up and was like “daddy, she lies all the time about picking her nose and eating her boogers!” So I might be a hack all because of booger lies.

What?! This isn’t chalk, I hear you saying. Yeah, so what. You a cop? I can do whatever I want! Today I went to my lovely Blue’s place of work (library) because they were hosting a baby’s first anime convention a Teen Library Con. And because I’m so nice I offered to do a panel on how to get into cosplay since I’m so experienced. My first cosplay was in 2009 and I had a kid be like “oh, I was born that year,” and I aged a billion years at once.
Anywhoo! In between panels, I used the various whiteboards available to draw Senshi and Chilchuck because the library didn’t have much of a sidewalk for chalk and it was forecast to rain (even though it didn’t). So here ya go. I was dry erase cryptid for a day.

Forgot to upload my art from last week’s farmers market. I managed to steal some shade from one of the vendor’s tents because it was pretty dang hot out. I’m not a huge fan of the texture of the parking lot, but what can ya do?
also, I really need to start bringing a step stool or something with me to take pictures of these things cuz they keep getting so big I can’t take proper pictures

Just a quick art that once again got a lot bigger than I originally intended and therefore didn’t photograph super well because I didn’t have anything to stand on. Today was the farmers market which I got to before it opened because I now get off work at 7am. It was nice and now I’m so tired. But a bunch of little kids loved the drawing so that’s all I care about.

I started a new job working nights with Wednesday and Thursday as my weekend, so here’s some chalk I did this morning before going home to bed (technically yesterday morning since it’s after midnight now.) It’s still pride moth, so enjoy the most trans Pokémon and a pride flag.

I’ve had a few tags on previous art (mostly the recent Rose/Pearl one) expressing some disbelief and asking about how I’ve done stuff like not smudge the art and the sheer effect I did on that piece. I’m not an expert by any means, but I have learned a few things and I’d be happy to share if y’all are interested.

Once again in the saga of trying to go through the excess amount of pink chalk that I have. I had to wrap a towel around my head to keep from literally dripping on this art because it was so hot today. Normally I wouldn’t go out in this heat, but I’m trying to exhaust myself because I’m moving to a night shift job and am doing what I can to reverse my sleep cycle. So I’m going to go to “bed” now so I can wake up at 10pm and see how that goes. Love y’all!

So a fun thing about buying chalk is that packs come with way too many shades of pink and o hardly ever use all of them so I have an excess of a handful of shades of pink. That’s what lead me to pick Rose Quartz and Pearl for my spontaneous art at the coffee shop today. I took a few more process pictures than usual and another selfie next to the finished piece because sometimes I think the scale of these might escape people.

Happy Pride everyone! Blue and I went with some friends to Pride today and I spent way too much time drawing these eeveelutuons in the shape of a heart. Be gay. Do chalk.

I once again showed up to a random event with all my chalk. I actually got asked by staff if the person in charge had asked me there because they were apparently looking for someone to do interactive art with the kiddos. I said no, I’m just the weirdo that brings chalk to things. Today’s drawings include the Piasa Bird (pronounced pie-uh-saw), a beast from an Illiniwek legend in the area of the Mississippi/Missouri River confluence, Twilight Sparkle because a girl asked me to draw a unicorn, and Vaporeon because I had about 30 minutes left and wanted something simple for me.
