Alba is a creation of Klora, a blind witch who brought her to life by manipulating metal alloys. Designed to tend the wheatfields in the lower zones of the PALANQUIN, she is an artificial being, neither human nor machine.

PALANQUIN itself is a vast, living entity. It's an endless, metal beast that functions as both factory and organism. Alba's role is to maintain the fields that feed its insatiable, shifting structure. Over time, subtle changes begin to affect her. Her tools seem to alter on their own and movements increasingly defy her original design. Despite her artificial origin, Alba becomes more aware of the living, changing nature of both herself and the Factory.
