currently reading Deep Dive (aka Whet), and man oh man I love Lukas. I have a bad history with men, so being in a room full of men, even those that I know wouldn’t do anything or even just my boyfriends friends who I would consider to be my own, and the fact he spotted that, got her out of the situation, and solved it for future reference without outing her trauma is heartwarming. I think people forget that even if trauma is something you talk about, it doesn’t give someone the right to tell another person because it’s not there’s to share, whether family member, friend or partner. I get this is bare minimum, trust me, but I appreciate when this type of subject is talked about without emphasizing someone is damaged or broken, just that boundaries are in place for a reason, and even if there wasn’t a reason, those boundaries are valid. i appreciate Ali’s writing so much.

Nesta Archeron had such an amazing character development as time progressed, actually owned up to her flaws, had relatable flaws, and is overall a badass. I really liked Feyre at first but the whole having a baby thing after she literally made it so clear she wanted more time with Rhys and wanted to do more things for her just rubbed me the wrong way. Meanwhile Nesta literally had an intervention over an addiction (mental health crisis) and weaponized trauma, actually came to terms with what happened/her mistakes even when the people around her literally gave Feyre and Elaine more of a benefit-of-the-doubt because they are not as stubborn or hotheaded as Nesta. AND SHE’S A VALKYRIE?!?! I love Nesta.
