Sometimes you watch a show and you're like: wow, they had a serious show bible for this. And you just know it's treated like the holy grail it is by everyone involved, that it's laminated, that it's got annotations, footnotes, color coordination, a section for foreshadowing, callbacks, foils and parallels, that an eye blink doesn't get blunk without it matching that character's arc for the season and the show overall.

And sometimes you watch a show and you know that show had a pamphlet, one with, say, the word TEEN written on the front, WOLF on the back and just [TBD] splatted inside, probably with (abs?) scrawled on the bottom somewhere. And someone put their gum in it around the start of the fourth season.

which character has the most hubris? the most pride and arrogance? the most tragic downfall? the most melted wax wings? who does this classic trope the best according to the tumblrinas? scientists (the tumblrinas) find out.

obviously you must think that this character in some way possesses the character trait of hubris. how you interpret this is up to you. have fun with it yall.

no real people (ie celebrities), however, mythological or religious figures are allowed.

if a roleplay character has the same name as their player, they're disqualified (ie, no dsmp, i have nothing against yall it just makes me personally a little uncomfortable)

no characters from harry potter

there are two nepotism characters that will automatically make it in; however, they are a secret for now ;) though he is the blog mascot, pride from fma:b is not one of them, so you should still submit him if you want him in the bracket!

submissions will close either after 2 or 3 weeks, (september 8th, possibly extended to september 15th) or until we get 100 submissions.

a thing about going through submissions is

A. much more difficult than I thought it'd be

B. the unparalleled experience of reading submissions after waking up at three in the mcfucking morning, seeing the time on submissions and going "🤨 and what were YOU doing up"

Submit murder husbands and wives for the upcoming gay wrongs poll (coming after the current poll finishes!)

To qualify for this poll, a couple must do bad things together. They don't have to be evil and it doesn't have to be actual murder, but 'murder husbands and wives' are defined as 'gay people who committed crimes'.

Canon couples are best, but as long as there's sufficient crime and homoeroticism I see no reason to not submit [insert non-canon ship you like].

Louis and Lestat from Interview with the vampire and Kinn and Porsche from Kinnporsche are included automatically since they were my main inspiration for this poll. Feel free to still submit propaganda for them if you want to!

I reserve the right to disqualify a submission if I'm uncomfortable with the source material (for example if the author of [media your characters are from] is racist/transphobic/etc).
