Nolan looked up at the mistress as she opened the door, giving a polite smile with his messenger bag in tow. “My apologies for being a nuisance, madame. I’m here to ask if you want your slave to get an updated health assessment. My name’s Nolan Wade, I’m the Chateau Medic.”
Bianca leaned against the door after she opened it, eyes examining the person in front of her. “To what do I owe this pleasure of your company?”

“What fun is it if I’m in a perfectly healthy position?” He offered, smiling. He looked her over for a moment before sighing quietly. “I would love that but I don’t want you to do anything for charity. Besides, I can’t be the only one you’ve found to be interesting in this place. I mean I know I’m some pretty decent eye candy, but you are one lovely woman.” He teased leaning on the bars.

There it was, that southern accent with the comforting silver lining. And before he knew it, Rhett had his lips against Nolans which lit a small fire in him. He was gonna do that a few more times before the night was over. Eyes stayed closed even when Rhett pulled back and a small smile found his lips. “Keep doing stuff like that and resting may be the last thing I can think about, Mister Bellefleur.” He teased before he opened his eyes. “And tonight… Tonight I want to try to be normal. Do you think we can handle that?” He asked before he slowly leaned up to catch Rhett’s lips again.

“You make it sound like you thought I was going to be all weepy eyed because I was brought back.” He teased as he worked on the other. “People come and go. We remain. And I get to do my job.” He offered before patting the other on the shoulder. “All patched up, try and not come back for at least a week.” Looking up at the Guard he shrugged. “If we were to believe anything else, we’d rot emotionally before we do physically and then we’d be useless. Besides, if my emotional state catches up to the physical one I’ll be more fucked than ever.”

Ben was never quite going to be one to share all of the details. “Sounds like a fantastic slumber party.” He murmured as he nuzzled against the older wolf without much hesitation. “Mine was spent curled up in a ball under my cot, so guaranteed yours was better.” Eyes closed he opened them slowly and sighed. “Ben, if you’re about to sweep me up like a bride, let me keep my dignity. It’s not like I’m falling to literal pieces just yet.” He teased, moving to stand beside him outside his cell. “The pain is a six. And that is without any medicine at all.”

He looked at her with a soft expression before looking back down at his paperwork. “I don’t need a home, I need work. Work focuses me. Keeps me from panicking about the inevitable.” He admitted. He looked back up at her. “Besides, you deserve a good home too.” His eyes met hers seriously. “More than just about anyone else in this god forsaken place.”

The shift had been rough on Ben. The moon had usually been his friend, but with his body being as pained as it was, he had done nothing but lay on the cold brick floor during the moon to ease every aching muscle. When he’d shifted back, he had moved to the cot. When the door opened, Nolan had prayed for someone to just be looking for help, not a rental. But when he realized it was Ben, his eyes opened slowly and he glanced at the guard, grinning. “Yes sir.” He murmured quietly. Standing, he met the Guard at the doorway and took him in. “You alright? You look a little tense.”

While he had been talking to another slave, they’d dragged her in, but Nolan had stepped to her side, nodding the guards away. “I’ve got her.” He muttered as he laid her back on a bed. “Well, now. You look like you’ve gotten your tush handed to you.” He teased as he looked her over. “Alright, fireball. No worries. Just stay awake as best you can. If you fall asleep I’ll wake you with a poke or a needle pinch. And what fun is that?”

Chuckling from his cage, he nodded, sitting on his bunk. “Was it missed all that much?” He wondered, glancing up. There were purple patches all over the wolf. Bruising from failing organs, all the signs that Nolan’s body was failing him. And fast. “I’d say it’s a pleasure but…” He regarded himself. “I’ve looked better.”

Her final question had hi looking down at her hand with laughter. “Unfortunately…” He started. “I haven’t seen her face in over a week.” It was an admission that he knew carried the possibility of someone sending him back to his cell. Eyes slowly dragged up to the Doctor’s. “So right now, it appears that the only permission you’ll have to seek to get me in the hospital is the dominion. But for some reason, if she returns, yes. Valerie would be supportve.”

His breathing was shallow, but fuck all, it was there. “Not even a little bit.” He promised, hissing in pain as his chest felt tight and heavy. “Unfortunately what I’ve got is just too good to share.” The Medic joked, opening his eyes up at her. “Can you… get me to my cell?”

There was never discomfort in Llewyn’s presence. Only an odd sensation like a curious need. A need to get closer? A need to become more familiar? The options, really, were multiple and almost endless. But as he sauntered closer, Nolan couldn’t hide the affectionate grin that marked his face. “Why would you ever bore yourself with these people and their insides for me?” He wondered. Grinning, he looked down. “I have a game plan. And a Doctor involved. If all goes well, I will continue gracing you with my unreasonably complicated presence. If all does not go well, then…” He clicked his tongue. “I must admit. It would’ve been quite the pleasure to have had you claim me. Should I have ever proved interesting enough.”

There it was. That feeling of pity as he looked over his work that hadn’t lost it’s quality but had certainly amassed during his time being claimed. That look that screamed ‘I’m so sorry’ as his eyes glanced up to meet the other. “You know, you look awfully sad about this whole thing. But honestly, I’m glad to be back. Means I can refocus where my attentions need to be.”

He didn’t believe that in the least as he looked the boy over. “Join us all in the room, then?” He asked quietly. “I would really love to have you in there Henry. It would bring me a bit of comfort.” He admitted as he rolled up his sleeve, offering out his arm to the man. “The tissue will spread. I can do the arm no problem, it’ll just take some time is all.”

It was that teetering experience between the light and voices calling him back. He’d done this walk before, stood in the middle, but he managed to step away from that place once more and he gasped for a large breath as he registered where he was and who was helping him. Pain radiated through his chest as he grasped at it, wincing. “Office… Get the black bag.” He panted. The guard was clearly irritated at this point as Nolan wheezed. “If you’re that offended by blood… Get Ben.” He spat, irate that this was even an issue. “You owe me… Remember the last time… you brought a slave to my infirmary?” He asked, brow raised.

The questions were precise and to the point. What he wanted and expected of her. “That was taken three days ago. And it’s been about a month since I’ve had to replace anything. Before that another two.” He offered quietly, looking from his hands to her with a small smile. She gave him the game plan, the run down. “I know how I want part of this to go.” He said firmly. “I want you... And Rhett to do the surgery.” Nodding, he took another breath. “I want Ben in a gallery so that if anything goes wrong, he can get Rhett out of here quickly. And I want Henry in because he deserves to learn, if we can convince him.” Firmly he bit his lip. “I’ve had six major surgeries in the past two years. I have lost everything that’s originally been mine. Seven will be a lucky number either way. But I have faith in all of you.”
