me seeing cygnus returning in in your eyes vs watching the map and realizing that my perception of how he and leda met/their relationship and evolution was WAY OFF from what i had in my head and i will have to rework a lot of their dynamic in future fics and stuff

The most interesting part with Leda for me, is that for all of the murder she does, she doesnt seem to enjoy it in any way. When she fights Ansbach, the Hornsent, Thiollier or you, she always seems to express some form of regret at having to kill you. Of course, she doesnt actually have to kill anyone, she is just very quick to use murder as a solution, but it doesnt seem to stem from a desire to hurt others, it feels like she genuinely believes this is the only way forward.

She says she is mistrustful of others, and while that convo is kinda funny, it really does feel like she has lost all trust in mankind. In the dialogue about Hornsent's crusade, while most people remember the "they were never saints" part, I mostly remember "Man is by nature a creature of conquest". It really does speak to how she views people, and it seems like she believes Miquella's forced age of compassion is the only way to change things for the better, that without his control, everyone would just constantly be at each other's throats. It almost makes me wonder about the needle kights. Did she kill them for the same reason ? Were they actually disloyal to Miquella ? Was there already infighting before she came along ? Whatever the case, Leda is now utterly convinced of Miquella's cause, and is ready to do anything to bring him to power.

It's a very interesting dynamic with Miquella, who is always portrayed as a very hopeful figure, always trying to create a kind and compassionate world, while Leda is a very pessimistic one. She seems to almost embody his "through whatever means necessary" philosophy. Had Miquella succeeded, i could almost see her taking on a role similar to the one Messmer took for Marika, an enforcer, someone who does the dirty jobs so their god can keep their hands clean. Hell, she's almost started to do it by herself, Miquella wouldn't even need to ask her.

I think one of the longest clown emoji streaks I've earned regarding Elden Ring ideas is how I've made a joke like "lmao how many times do you think Leda and Hornsent hatefucked" but then it turned into an actual dynamic that got my interest in literal 20 minutes ffgfnkfjnn

The worst/best part about them is that they have full capacity for being reasonable, they just CHOOSE to not use it 🤦‍♂️ But it would be interesting considering they both have a lot of aggression to tame, and this hypothetical relationship just feels so.. "alive"? I don't have a better term.

Like think about how whereas he is trying to fix the quest of revenge where it belonged (Messmer and associates), he of course has relapses sometimes and Leda is too trigger-happy to jump onto "oh so you ARE unfit for the world Miquella wants I guess, I wasn't right to trust you" instantly. And like.. it is not very nice to make him unsafe just because he naturally has PTSD episodes. Every goddamn time. And I like to think that sooner or later he'd finally manage to successfully communicate it to her in the way that'd make her understand how much pressure she has been putting on him because of her paranoia. Like guilt and trying to do better than to threaten to get back at being enemies just when he is finally attached to someone again

I also doubt that he is good at these things, like my friend Val says, noting good ever comes out of his mouth regardless of intentions hfhggfh He would probably still feel self-conscious that he is "wasting her time" because after having lost his actual family he would not start another one no matter what. Like, he would want to tell her that he can not offer her kind of bond and experiences she deserves, especially considering she barely if at all had relationship yet.. but then tell her something along the lines of seeking someone that'd treat her like "real woman" or otherwise misogynistic stuff vfhfhhb And they'd go through uncomfortable but needed convo that she is a knight, not a housewife and a mother. Like, she is not "robbed of her proper place by a bitter broken man", she decides where her place is and not anyone else (well except for kind miquella of cooooourse :3 though imagine her actually hastily correcting the moment of self-assertion with Miquella's name, like if she did something wrong 😔). Just her way to say she's content, but I just know these people can't express any affection directly! It is always something under exterior of vitriol and coldness that they just learn to read between lines fuckin tsunderes, man

I just like how this is all not perfect at all just because they stopped trying to kill each other! It gives some dynamic, something I found entertaining to imagine? These are not even all conflicts between the two I can imagine, but also them both being very hardened people helps it to not get toxic! Especially since there is an actual variant of the events in the game where they find common ground despite having fought earlier! Again: they CAN, they just DON'T xD

But still it is embarrassing how I no longer can even shitpost/be horny/both without turning it into some headcanons tangent gdjghfh I am booboo the fool

I absolutely love the web of connections/friendships/relationships/etc you’ve woven in the leda house au (and the aus of the au)! I was reading the lucius/izzy convo about izzy killing jack, and lucius’s reaction to the revelations therein (the “fuck eddy” line specifically), and I was wondering what lucius and eddy’s relationship looks like these days? in the aus of the au they don’t seem to get along very well (I think because a lot of times L meets/gets with izzy before meeting them?) but in the main storyline, where they meet first and izzy comes in later, and they both love Stede (obv different ways lmao), how does knowing their history with izzy affect his feelings about her?

Oh excellent question! Yes, in the aus, often Eddy does not bond with Lucius because she and Izzy are two jealous peas in a pod. It ranges in severity. When Faith lives or Stede is already involved, Eddy is generally more relaxed about it because she was already sharing him. You're Awful, I Love You is the worst because Eddy knows that she needs to let Izzy have someone else too, but she very very deeply does not like it.

So! In the main verse, prior to Lucius taking up with Izzy, they get along quite well actually. Lucius feels comfortable teasing Eddy ('leather mommy loves me!') and Eddy thinks Lucius is a pretty good egg. They aren't the closest of the Revenge staff, but they definitely get along and have a very playful relationship.

Lucius' feelings do change the longer he's with Izzy. He still likes and respects Eddy, but it's a more nuanced understanding of who she is as a person. While Lucius was always one of the people who knew in his bones that Eddy was dangerous, he had allocated that to physical danger, not psychic danger. After all, Stede is incandescently happy with Eddy and Lucius, despite his many protests, is very invested in Stede's happiness. If Eddy can make Stede happy than how bad can she be, you know?

Then Izzy very slowly starts to open up. Things about their past come out. And Izzy is very much responsible for a lot of the things that went wrong in their relationship and Lucius does understand that intellectually, emotionally he's fiercely protective of his horrible goblin king.

So things do shift a little. Lucius is a little more reserved, a little more brittle with Eddy. And she definitely feels that and backs off some. They still tease each other and enjoy each other's company for the most part, but it's just a little more withheld. And sometimes Lucius will learn something new and just shut down to Eddy for a few days while he processes it.

Eddy may also have a few stray cobweb feelings to sort through, but no bitterness or annoyance for Lucius. If anything, she's grateful that Izzy has someone to preoccupy him and ultimately make him more palatable as friend, so that she doesn't lose him entirely. That's why she puts up with Lucius being weird about it sometimes.

as with everything else in life, I’m late to making this post. I tend to make one around Jan 1st every year, but it’s now a few days after that, and all i can say for myself is that time is non-consequential during a pandemic, right? right.

anywho, this is my usual “thank you for keeping me going this year” post, but with even more fervor. 2020 would not have been nearly as tolerable without you all in it. and when i say all i really do mean all. thank you to anyone who follows me here or has read and supported my work on AO3 or has sent me a message or an ask or even just likes my posts. you can never know how many people’s hearts you’ve touched, lives you’ve made better, but i’m telling you now: you made me smile and laugh and feel love in a year that could have easily stolen all that. thank you for sticking around.

So after munching her blueberry turnover and two cup of coffee later, she maturely took the gold apple, searched for the correct greek translation in her phone, and carved a phrase into its skin with the plastic knife. Smiling, she started throwing it in the air, catching it with her other hand. After a bit of people watching, she offered the apple to the person passing in front of her with a smile, “For the the most beautiful one.” This is not Troy, so it should be fine

I’m not sitting here congratulating the anon for messaging sithtrash. Personally, I don’t think the anon should have stepped that boundary, and I would hope for this to not happen again, to anyone. However, I have no control over you guys, and the situation of someone actually messaging him didn’t even come to mind. I’m not freaking out because he didn’t have to answer the anon’s question about them dating, but he instead chose to do so.
