Just a poem that I wrote that involves my anger towards society today since i’m just mad right now.

Please, please, do not continue reading if you are sensitive to topics such as family relationships, government, sensitive historical events, mental health, or get offended easily.

This is my personal opinion and I respect if you choose not to agree with it, but please do not flood me with hate comments, thank you.

Poem for the people

Okay, this is going to be short and sweet,

Or not so much so.

But remember history class,

Way back when?

When you didn’t really listen,

And didn’t care,

Learning about Christopher Columbus,

And the revolutionary war?

But remember somewhere in middle school,

It may have been perhaps,

You learned about a certain event,

One that dated way back when?

The books were taken,

Anyone different destroyed,

They all were the same,

No pleasure no joy?

But through twisted vines and broken trust,

There was a person who made it all worse.

Remember when making “American great again”,

Meant funding children’s hospitals,

Giving money to schools,

Printing more books,

Having resources for those who are struggling,

Freedom for those in the LGBTQIA+ community,

Freedom for normal people,

Freedom for all,

Freedom for babies,

For kids,

For teens,

For adults,

For mature ages?

Or did it not mean that from the beginning?

Where did all the time go?

Where did the focus hit?

Right back to that 8th grade museum holocaust trip.

And as someone who knows how to read,

How to write in both print and cursive,

Has experienced a pandemic at a young age,

Has called the su!cide hotline,

Has lived in a household with both sides their whole life,

Has tried to express their feelings but have never been heard,

It’s heartbreaking for me to know that kids might not be able to experience learning,

That they will go through the bad things I went through.

And I want you to know that you,

Yes you,

Who is reading this,

Are not alone.

Your feelings are valid to be heard,

So let me disclaim,

I’m sorry if any of this offended you,

If you have different views,

I respect you,

But I do not agree with you.

And that’s ok,

please just let it go,

And I will do the same.

Don’t make a deal of it, please.

I will let you be,

I will let you live your life,

I will respect you no matter who you are and what your view is,

Feel free to ignore this.

This is my personal opinion,

Please do not defend nor offend it.

But if you understood this message,

And it hit somewhere close to home,

Please repost it.

I have said my peace and only what I have to say,

from one perspective.

Don’t ignore the warnings history has taught us,
