I like how someone in the comments said Mr. Peck has terrible technique 😂
Bending Ms. Kerr over his lap? Super cute though! And the way she looks at him and then leans in for a kiss? Perfection! 🥰

Yoshiyuki Iwase (Onjuku -fishing village- Chiba, 1904 - 2001)
Ama divers subject matter - repeatedly -
The refreshing Ama (海女, "sea women")
The long whistle sound that Ama divers make upon resurfacing from a dive, as part of their breathing technique, became a defining characteristic of their practice. This whistling, known as isobue, is a unique technique that helps protect their lungs and prevents excessive hyperventilation.

There aren’t any tutorials showing how to do a twisted rib in the double knitting technique, so I thought I’d show it off.
It’s a little bit tricky because of the weird colour control, but as long as you follow the pattern & remember to split the yarn colours on the second set of stitches you can easily fall into a nice rhythm.

Just wanted to share my latest miniature - I'm calling it 'Bloom' and it will be part of the 'Stories of Home' exhibit at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives later next month :)
I tried a few new techniques for this, and I'm happy with how it all came together. The flowers posed some slight issues here and there, and I have a few floral rejects. I'll probably revisit this technique again in the future and make a few other smaller versions.

Hello hello again, I've had an odd few weeks and have been unable to manage the time or brain space to try and post till now. Now I have it, it's just an odd hour, but we're making it work.
For the past few months, I've gained a technique in crochet that I haven't seen many others utilize, and lately I've been using it to make stars without sewing. And I've been a little obsessed with it.
I still don't fully know how to explain how to do it (preemptive apologies on that) but I've been working on it. I've made
Tumblr media
Obviously, I start off making one with eyes like on Mario. He's kinda powerstar shaped, but he ended up stuffed like a luma. I love him, he squishes nice and he has obvious points.
I've made dozens in smaller sizes and trying to take it much much larger as well.

Even making a pillow out of some yarn I wanted to just use up and test with. It's so cozy to hold and lean against too. There's an obvious twist from the center portion I started in heading out (started on the multi-blue side), the purple ended up a bit flat, and the last few rounds had some gaps in the stitches, but it formed more or less how I wanted it.
I also have a bit of an obsession with sea life, so I wanted to see about making an odd sea star and...

I made a brittle star... it certainly looks like one to me and the goal was met, but it's one of those things that you make and you don't quite know how to feel about.
Tumblr media
And like I said: no sewing. Not a single one (unless you count slip stitching 2 rows of sc together as sewing, then the brittle star has some)
