Imo, the songs in Moana 2 are more like intermission numbers instead of a plot device that moves the story forward, which is basically what makes the songs in a musical unique. So yeah, most of the time it sounds good and can even get you hooked but it's not really memorable because it isn't really used as a storytelling device. I mean even the song Shiny had its purpose in the first movie (besides the revenge of the crustaceans)

Sure most of the songs in the second movie had a message but it's basically a one liner that didn't need a whole performance number. Maybe that's why the pacing is really messy because so much of the storytelling in animated musical films relies on the songs the characters perform.
