Halsin saying "you came" in the romance scene: visibly perking up, relieved, looks like you just made him the happiest man alive by not standing him up

Halsin saying "you came (for me)" after being saved from Orin: voice full of terror, relief, and surprise, looking at you with such gratitude, body tense but gradually loosening as he speaks and realizes that it truly is over and he's safe from the Bhaalists

Completely different circumstances yet both showing, once again, that he is always safe with you, that you will always come for him/will never abandon him- emotionally or otherwise- and that his doubts about what he actually means to other people were unfounded all along, because you came when you never, ever had to at all

Thank you for this. Halsin is my favoritest companion and romance, but I sometimes co sider just chucking shadowheart off a cliff. She's so hypocritical in act 1, and generally unlikeable. I get that she's brainwashed by a cult but that isn't a free card to be a bitch.

Also her acting like Lae'zel is a problem. Shafowheart, my girl, you robbed a gith'yabki creche unprovoked and stole from them. Of course they attacked you. You literally have no moral high ground in anything gith'yanki related.

Also not to start A Discourse but I really fail to see why people shit on Halsin so much and then pretend to have a moral high ground over people who like him. Yes, he was added late to the game, yes, the writing for Astarion and Shadowheart being "okay" with you dating them and him is off and badly done. But Halsin, to me at least, is undeniably one of the sweetest companions in the game. He is also the only one who doesn't have an ongoing existential identity crisis - he's just a chill guy who likes honey and ducks and would like to have a family one day.

"He's creepy" "he's only useful in act 3 as a lure for Orin" "hes just a camp talker to me" "hes useless" listen. This is Shadowheart for me okay. I leave her to rot in camp 90% of the time. I take her out in act 2 so she can help defend Halsin while he's getting Thaniel. I hate her personality and people like her IRL. So in a strange weird way, I can relate.

However, when I say this, people are all up in my business. "Oh you dont know how to play a cleric" "skill issue" "mean women yay" "lmao youre lame and dumb" like? Okay? Go offline sometimes? Go touch grass and return when you have something concrete and meaningful to say maybe? Why is there a need to insult a real life person over a bunch of pixels on the screen?

Me saying "yeah I dont like her, I like this guy" and then people being ACTUALLY rude and condescending to ME IRL about it is honestly mad
