I’m back! I took a long break from drawing because I wanted to 😆 . Minion #1 started school and my heart is not handling it well. I have cried more than I care to admit. Missing some desserts that are only made in my little island of Puerto Rico. All these deserts are sold or made in the same translucent plastic cups dripping in sugar and based on fruits that are plentiful on it. . Piraguas (which is our version of snow cones)covered in tamarin and raspberry sauce, limbers (like a popsicle in a cup) my preferred flavor is coconut, and lastly mantecado (which is ice cream but with higher fat content 😆) in mango flavor. . Food is the only things that really connects me to the little island, due to the military, some people, and at times language barriers I’ve never called the island home. . I have fond memories of summers spent there and a handful of family members I hold dear, but as a military brat the only thing that makes a place home is my family. At times I feel like that awkward child not truly accepted in scenarios but fortunately I have my immediate family and in-laws . As an adult I’ve tried to learn and connect more so I may share the culture with my children. So they may never feel like an outsider.
