I really didn't think I'd like Maximus as much as I do. I'm normally uninterested in the Brotherhood of Steel, especially the way Bethesda tends to present them. I find it pretentious and a tad annoying. And Episode 1 felt like it was trying to do that.

And then we saw how pathetic the Brotherhood is. And Maximus really just wanted to be a silly little guy with power armor. He just wanted to live a carefree life eating oysters and popcorn in a Vault. He just wanted to save a pretty girl. He just wanted to not be bullied anymore.

And I love him.

but think about Buck’s first Pride as an out bisexual man. He goes with Hen and Karen and their family maybe (like maybe this is between Tommy and Eddie lmao) and he goes to their house to meet them and they decide to paint flags on their faces, and Hen gently holds his face while she paints a little bi flag on his cheek and she may tear up a little because she gets to know and love Buck in this time where he’s learning to fully embody himself and she doesn’t fully relate, right? She’s always known she liked girls. She doesn’t fully understand the confusion and turmoil he’s been dealing with realizing he’s queer as an adult, so she paints the lil flag and then she cradles his face and just smiles and is like “I’m so so proud of you, Buck” and Buck’s smile is wobbly and his eyes are wet and he hugs her and it’s just platonic queer love between them that is so fucking beautiful. 911, I NEED a scene with Buck and Hen during this arc, I am -begging-
