✨ Important Announcement! ✨

Hi everyone, Simhuahua here! This year, I'll be switching this primary blog over to a general art account instead of just Sims-related posts. I didn't realize I could only use my art business email for one Tumblr account, and the limited features on secondary blogs are too great for me to not make the switch. I also had a huge boost in engagement with my other art recently. I need to be able to interact with posts with my business email and my more well-known online name (Chiwowza) instead of my Sims 4 name.

Why?

Sadly I'm no longer super active in the Sims community, I started in the middle of a career/life shift when I had way more time. I stepped away for a while to focus on getting my driver's license (which I did!) and finding a full-time job (which I also did!), and I now have real-life things I need to prioritize. Admittedly a lot of happenings in the Horse Ranch community (and everyone knows exactly what I'm talking about) pretty much killed my motivation to participate, at least for now. Especially with the support for gen AI, which has heavily impacted artists and is a huge part of why I temporarily got a job outside of my field 😢 Art is supposed to be fun and it's kind of sucked the fun out of it for me.

What happens now?

Anything I've already posted will be left here and/or reposted to a new secondary blog. This isn't to say I'll never revisit Sims 4, but I only plan on doing so once I truly have the time and motivation. I will continue to follow/like other blogs dedicated to Horse Ranch, but I completely understand if people choose to unfollow because of the shift in content! I'll make a proper intro post for this account going forward, but it'll largely be fanart and other personal work.

I want to thank everyone who's supported my Sims 4 content, and for continuing to make wonderful mods for this game. People who dedicate so much time making high-quality content, for free, deserve to have their creations respected! It's amazing to see what everyone's been posting in the time I haven't been active, and I look forward to downloading way too many of these mods when I get a chance 🤣

PW Horse Height Slider (Fixed & Compatible)

This new slider is a rework of our Enhanced Horse Hoof Slider and includes our improved version of the PW Horse Height Slider, which you can find here! It has all of our previous hoof sliders, as well as the height slider.

We've also made a Horse Height Chart CAS Background using hh and cm so you can accurately set your horses' heights! Patreon members will receive access to a .psd of the CAS background so that they can freely recolor it for personal use only.

Notes:

Remember to grab the hoof for these sliders!

When using a height between normal and smallest, the front legs may bend weirdly. You can use the Leg Fix Slider (see above) to help correct them.

It can be difficult to access the quarter left and right views - you must keep slightly rotating your horse until you find this angle. This can be annoying, but it's the only way to fully maximise the potential of sliders!

The fixing of this slider was designed for role-players/those who use poses, and therefore you'll find very little issues with this side of playing the game.

The Horse Height Slider is not 100% suitable for actual gameplay - the sim may sit in the wrong place in the saddle (though this has been improved) or the riding position may be distorted. In-game animations may also not work correctly. There is no guarantee we will fix this in the future.

There is known distortion of 2D and 3D saddle pads when sizing a horse down. Any other distortion you may experience with equipment is likely not fixable. We will look into this in the future.

We do not recommend using the Leg Length Slider with the Horse Height Slider. Other sliders seem to work relatively correctly, but feel free to report any issues, as they may be resolvable.

The Horse Height Chart CAS Background is mostly accurate! We've based this off of the sim being around 5'7. We do not recommend using our chart to measure your sims, as you'll notice they're giant.

ATTENTION: To anyone who uses my breed templates

It has come to my attention that Jocelyn (known as maplewood-estate, cath-creative-corner, jocelynxflores, and several other alts) of the Equiliberty Discord server has uploaded my breed template files to her server without my knowledge or consent. This is a problem for two reasons:

One.

I specifically state in my TOS not to re-upload my work anywhere else, as it is hosted on Simfileshare, with backup copies on my google drive in the event Simfileshare goes down. I do not mind if my work is privately shared between friends (especially through imports etc) or in small groups, but I do mind when someone re-uploads the files somewhere themselves without credit or a direct link to my blog. That this person did this doesn't actually surprise me, as she is well known within the TS4 community for stealing cc from other creators, removing their names/IDs from the file, and refusing to give credit where credit is due. I formally requested that she remove my files from her server, which she refused to do. I was also accused of being a bully for pointing out this theft and for asking that the files be taken down.

Two.

Earlier today, it came to my attention that one of my breed templates - the Thoroughbred breed template - was corrupting save files. Upon further investigation with the affected person, it was revealed to me that they downloaded this corrupted template not from my simfileshare link, but from the Equiliberty discord server. None of the templates from the direct download from simfileshare have this issue, which leads me to believe that whatever copies got uploaded to that server, they were corrupted. I do not know if this corruption was intentional or not. It is important to always download my files (or files from any creator, really), directly from the source, as those files will always be the most up-to-date versions and also guaranteed not to be corrupted. If you wish to share cc to a wider audience (like a server), simply link to the relevant post on my blog or simfileshare page. This ensures that other people can also access the most up-to-date version, as well as discover more of my work.

Unfortunately, because Jocelyn reacted with hostility to my request, I was unable to explain the very good reason why I was asking that my work be taken down and replaced with links. This entire issue could have been avoided had my Terms of Service been followed, as the original upload was not corrupted at all. Unfortunately, because of this, a handful of people lost hours of hard work, which makes me incredibly sad. Obviously, as a creator, there really isn't anything I can do if my TOS are violated beyond blocking known violators, but I would like to think that observing any creator's TOS is a simple sign of respect. Going forward, I will continue to share my breed templates through this blog. I am also certain they will continue to be stolen, but there is little I can do about that. All I ask is that people remember that the safest files will always be those downloaded directly from the content creator's page, and that anyone who reuploads my files elsewhere instead of directly linking to my blog is violating my TOS and also possibly sharing corrupted files with you. Be aware and be safe!

• I really don't want to give more popularity to this person, but just wanted to make something clear, even tho she will just come up with excuses.

The difference between you and the other person involved, is that she did apologize, she recognized her mistakes, she ADMITTED she was wrong, and took a step back from that mistake, fixing it, it is NOT because she is making cc. While you on the other hand, just keep justifying yourself with sh1t excuses, never admitting your mistakes, getting defensive when people call you out for breaking creator's TOUs and repeating the same mistake again and again.

Maybe if you'd apologized before it got to this point, people would've forgive you too, but it's better to say everyone is wrong except for you. 👏🏻

Ironically, I've made this mistake myself in the past. I publicly apologised and took every step possible to correct it, ensuring that I created original work that I could be proud of. Now, the person who ridiculed me for my mistake is repeating it themselves.

**About the Perpetrator:**

The individual in question has consistently violated the terms of use set by me and other creators by uploading our work to their server without giving proper credit or providing links to the original creator's pages. This not only disrespects the hard work and creativity of the original creators but also misleads the community.

Recently, this individual has escalated their actions by stealing creators' meshes and claiming that they have the right to use them because "all custom content is owned by EA." This claim is false.

**EA's Policy on Custom Content:**

EA does not claim ownership of custom content created by players. According to EA’s User Agreement, while creators retain ownership of their content, they grant EA a non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free license to use, distribute, and modify it. This means creators own their work, but EA can use it as per their terms.

The perpetrator's claim that EA owns all custom content is incorrect and misleading.

**Why This Matters:**

Custom content creators dedicate significant time and effort to enhance the gaming experience for all players. Plagiarism not only disrespects the original creator but also disrupts the integrity of our creative community.

**How You Can Help:**

1. **Report Infringing Content:** If you come across the content in question or other similar instances, please report it to the respective platform.

2. **Spread Awareness:** Share this notice to inform others and prevent further misuse of content.

3. **Support Original Creators:** Encourage proper attribution and support creators who contribute genuinely to the community.

🐴 Sims 4 Horse Ranch: Tribute Pellet Feed Bags

Lord I am finally releasing these 😭 I am so, so sorry for how long this took. Confession: I started this account when I was in the middle of a career transition and truthfully I overestimated how much time I would have to work on things like this lmao. I wasn't 100% happy with them for a while either, but I'm trying to let go of the idea that things I make need to be perfect for people to enjoy them.

I slightly adjusted the shading on these and optimized the textures. They have no specular like I was hoping for because I was getting a weird overlay on the mesh whenever I'd put them outside and I don't know how to fix it 🤣

I also didn't bother including a version with the bags laying on their side because it wasn't as natural-looking as I assumed; it's doable but they aren't as flat on the bottom as they should be.

Anyway, here they are! I'd still like to do more of these with different brands, which should actually be easier now that the hardest shit is done.

Feedbag CC Update! 🐴

Hi again! Sorry for being MIA with my feedbag CC, I had an important real-life project that I needed to prioritize for the end of the year. Thankfully I finished what I wanted to finish (yay!) so now I have time to go back and finish up my feedbags.

PLUS - I've decided to give the texture more detail so they're as nice as possible for you guys! I tried to add some shading to give them a little more definition without increasing the polycount. I'd like to try and figure out how to make specular and bump maps to expand on this as well. This is what I have right now and I'm currently tweaking it to try and make it better:

I might end up releasing a beta version with the current texture and then putting out a full release with the final improved version. The one laying on its side was edited with TOOL, but my plan is to making a stackable version of this. That was supposed to be a surprise but I might as well just say it lmao - surprise!

Updates and More! 🥳

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I posted here and it's time for some updates!

As I've been getting more involved in Sims 4 Horse Ranch, I've started favoring Alpha CC rather than Maxis Match for the most part. Most of my content going forward will be skewed more realistic, although I might do some fun/cartoony things here and there. Unfortunately this means I've scrapped certain projects I was working on before, or at least plan on reworking them to be more realistic-looking.

I also finally figured out how to use Blender, so I have some funky 3D creations coming soon! I'll be doing lots of realistic stable clutter, including feed, supplements, treats, grooming supplies, etc. featuring real-life brands.

Here's a sneak peak of my first release on my new feedbag mesh! I'm hoping to have this done within the next day or so, so stay tuned!
