Danger breathing zone for cats

Given the fact that the number of pet cats in the United States is upwards of 90 million, if litter dust were harmful, you would think that vets would have been seeing more sick cats with illness attributable to the dust and that the litter issue would have been scientifically investigated. I’ve seen no studies suggesting that clay litters containing sodium bentonite put either cats or humans at increased risk of any health problems. Unfortunately, most reports on this subject are anecdotal. I did find a report published in 1996 in a veterinary journal about a cat that was brought to the vet with lethargy and muscle weakness on two occasions after ingesting litter containing bentonite. The litter ingredient blamed for this alleged effect is the clumping agent, sodium bentonite, used in most major brands of clumping clay cat litter. As far as I can determine, this concern stems from a report by a cat breeder of the death of one or two litters of kittens that she attributed to internal blockages formed from litter dust the kittens inhaled in the box and licked from their fur when they groomed themselves. The issue under popular debate is the effects of clumping litter – the kind that forms easily removable clumps when cats urinate in their boxes. However, I did come across a controversy about this subject online – whether or not certain cat litters are harmful to humans or cats. I did a medical literature search to see if there were any studies linking inhalation of cat litter dust to any human health problems and found nothing. You raise an interesting question, but one to which there are no clear answers.

Add images to the timeline to update your After Effects slideshow with new imagery. In the example below, I just dropped an image on the timeline on the intro comp. All that you need to do is drag and drop your own imagery onto the timeline, right from your computer. These layers have the placeholders that control what you see on the canvas. You'll see a different view that shows only the objects (text and images) that are specific to that part of the clip. To start customizing the project, double click on these layers. They play in sequential order and each one starts as another leaves the canvas. On the timeline at the bottom of After Effects, you'll see various layers labeled with titles like Intro, Slide 1, Slide 2, and so on and so forth. Now, the fun begins: let's add our images to the placeholder elements. You might notice that the preview doesn't include all of the images you might have seen in the preview on Envato Elements: the project is built for you to add your own. Open the project in After Effects and press spacebar on your keyboard to see the starting point for this project. The project preview will playback and you'll see a combination of imagery, text, and effects. Go ahead and play a preview by pressing spacebar on your keyboard. You'll see the starting point for Restful open up. Now, let's double click to open the project up in Adobe After Effects. Most templates from Elements will include a guide or reference document that will help you use the project. I'll walk through customizing the Restful Slideshow template in this tutorial.įirst, I always recommend reviewing the project folder for project-specific documentation. I chose this project because it's easy to update and adjust. In this example, I'm going to use the Restful Slideshow template from Elements. Otherwise, it can take many hours to draw and animate a slideshow from scratch. Download and Extract Your After Effects SlideshowĪs you saw in the round-up below, I highly recommend starting with a slideshow template for Adobe After Effects. Let's walk through customizing a template together. Now that you've seen some of the top slideshow projects in action, it's time to dive into using one to build a slideshow of our own. It's perfectly suited for fashion or any modern creative purpose that needs an extra "oomph!" to grab a viewer's attention. The fast pace of this slideshow and bright colors set it apart. Play the previews below to see these slideshow projects in action! Each of these projects makes it easy to drop in your images and build a beautiful slideshow. Let's take a look at five of my favorite options for slideshows in Adobe After Effects. All of these slideshow templates for Adobe After Effects are included with a subscription to Envato Elements, an all-you-can-download service for creatives. And you can unlock hundreds of these templates for a single flat-rate subscription with Envato Elements. That's why it helps to use After Effects slideshow templates that already have most of the hard work completed for you. After Effects can be tricky to learn and navigate, and there's no award for creating a slideshow from scratch. Let's dive in! 5 After Effects Slideshow Templatesįirst thing's first: building a slideshow in After Effects does not need reinventing the wheel.

Another’s task management system might run on a clever but light weight system of hashtags ( Frame io) whilst other’s are more fully fledged dedicated systems in their own right ( Kollaborate). Also when looking at the table above, it’s not as simple as it looks, as I’ve had to condense information to make it accessible.įor example, one service’s version of exporting comments might be to an Excel spreadsheet ( LookAt), whilst another’s might be to NLE markers that you can import directly into your timeline ( Kollaborate/ Screenlight). Hopefully the following information will help you make your own choice, more easily.Īs a quick aside, I’ve not gone into detail on Vimeo or Dropbox, assuming that most readers will already be using and/or familiar with them. Basically the market is incredibly competitive right now and everyone whose in it, has something good to offer. This of course, doesn’t mean that Look At or Screenlight aren’t strong choices either. That said, Wipster’s unlimited storage and projects for only $15 a month potentially represents great value for money, especially for the low-budget filmmaker, or solo-freelancer. Secondly, could be Kollaborate because of the wider eco-system of apps that add a lot of value to using the service and Digital Rebellion’s filmmaker-centric approach to the kind of features they provide. Latest Service Updates | Key Differentiators | Service Pricing | Services Compared | Service Features | Service Tutorials | Comments and User Feedbackįrom what I can tell, in the video review services world, the two main horses to back might be Frame.io, partly because they’re gaining so much money from investors, and partly due to how quickly they’re updating and improving the service. UPDATE August 2016 – This post has gotten super long over time, so here are some shortcuts to each section: As an editor, there’s a lot to choose from and a lot of passionate, talented and ambitious entrepreneurs behind each of these services, working very hard to make your life easier! More Services Added – I’ve updated this post to quickly include a mention of three new services (see Even More Client Review Services below) that are all worth checking out as well. LookAt.io | Wipster | Frame.io | Kollaborate | Screenlight | Vimeo | Dropbox In this post I’ve sought to provide a quick and accessible comparison of the main services I’ve encountered, and the highlights of what each one has to offer. But continuing with something just because it works ‘OK’, isn’t a great way to do things, and especially not a way to give your clients, or yourself, the best creative experience. Personally, I’ve used Dropbox and or Vimeo with emails or phone calls for many years and it is a workable system.
#Mp4tools reveiw free#
Most of these cloud based video review services compare themselves to the ‘broken’ old alternative of using free services like Vimeo or Dropbox and long email chains of ‘confused’ client feedback. There are a plethora of video review services available to filmmakers today, seeking to help them collaborate on projects, gather client feedback and do a lot more besides, and all the while in a much more efficient fashion.

Xteam international

#Xteam international how to#
A management team energizes the effort, brokers conflicts, and arranges meetings where teams bring their respective parts of the car together.
#Xteam international how to#
Coordinators – like the logistics people working on how to keep the value chain as green as possible – create rules and tools that enable the teams to reach specific targets. Each team works on its own part of the design and gets its own funding, while coordinating with other teams and outside individuals and companies. With over thirty-six teams on six continents, funding from major corporations, input from the best universities on the planet, the consortium has already created a working prototype. One example of the nimble-network approach is the Vehicle Design Summit, an MIT student-led international consortium formed to design a two-hundred mile per gallon car for sale in India. Still others have focused on strategic partnerships to spur innovative practices. Others have created more stable organizational structures and cultures designed for consistent and steady innovation over time. Some have focused on building virtual enterprises – nimble networks of ad hoc teams leveraging new information technologies to accelerate innovation. Let’s take a look at some of the ways people have reacted to the new world. The second concept is that of X-teams – teams that enable companies to practice distributed leadership and to reach beyond internal and external boundaries to accelerate the process of innovation and change. The first is the idea of distributed leadership – a way of harnessing, aligning, and leveraging the leadership capabilities that exist all across an organization to make it more agile, responsive, and creative. In doing so, the article will explore the application of two key concepts. This article examines how three very different enterprises are dealing with this new reality. The result is a hyper-drive environment where innovation is the name of the game, rules are invented on the fly, and the challenge always is to do it better and faster or fall prey to some unknown competitor who just arrived on the playing field. In this world, information flows freely across organizational, geographic, and cultural borders. X-teams are externally oriented, and enabling them will lead the organization to step up the pace of change and innovation.īusiness pundits tell us that we live in a new world – a world that’s flat, global, diverse, and networked i. This exception is critical, since the connections that enable the firm to seize market opportunities and leverage technological breakthroughs are on the outside. There’s nothing really wrong with the way organizational teams work – except for the fact that they are inward looking.

The persistence of memory meaning ism

The distorted melting clocks in The Persistence of Memory may symbolize our very different experience of time while we dream. What is the meaning of the melting clocks in the painting? We use clocks in our daily lives to track the passage of time. Understanding that The Persistence of Memory most likely relates to and depicts a dream state is the first step in revealing the hidden meaning of Salvador Dali’s mysterious painting. We have all had fantastic dreams where unrelated people, places, and objects come together in inexplicable and irrational ways. A major goal of the Surrealist art movement was to capture visually what it is like to be in the dream state. For Surrealists, dreams were very important. The concept of the dream is integral to understanding Surrealism and also plays a key role in unlocking the secret meaning of The Persistence of Memory. "Can't the dream also be used in solving the fundamental questions of life?" Andre Breton, The Surrealist Manifesto Surrealism and the Interpretation of Dreams In fact, Salvador Dali famously referred to his surrealist art as "hand-painted dream photographs." Unlike the Expressionists who created art with emotive strokes and bold colors, Surrealists like Dali painted odd, often irrational subject matter unemotionally, with precise and almost photographic detail. The content of The Persistence of Memory is peculiar, but Dali paints his strange display of objects using a contrastingly straightforward artistic style and technique. What do these melting clocks mean? Why are they laying out there in the sun? What is the hidden meaning? Salvador Dali's Surrealist Art Explained: "Hand-Painted Dream Photographs" While we usually think of clocks as hard, unbending objects, Dali's clocks are flexible, malleable things that seem to be soft, perhaps melting away in the desert sun. Nearby, another clock drapes over a limb. A clock covers the sleeping figure's back, almost the same way a blanket might cover a sleeping child. Sometimes referred to as just the "melting clocks" painting, in Dali's The Persistence of Memory (1931) a mysterious human-like white figure sleeps in an otherwise deserted landscape. What is the secret hidden meaning behind Salvador Dali's painting The Persistence of Memory and its iconic melting clocks? Salvador Dali - The Persistence of Memory (1931) The Meaning of Salvador Dali's Melting Clocks Painting Known for his often strange and surreal subject matter, Dali's most famous work of art is The Persistence of Memory (1931), widely regarded as a masterpiece of Surrealism. The Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali is one of the most enigmatic artists of the twentieth century.

A nimble thimble

“Working with her was truly one of the best experiences. Williams had high praise for Neon Exchange founder Toni Bowles. It recently joined forces with The Neon Exchange and hosted the Tula Pink National Quilt Show for a 10-day period in April, which raised $16,189 for St. Williams said the Nimble Thimble will have a future in “some form,” perhaps less on the retail side and more of a focus on experiences, such as sewing classes and other events. “It’s like a hardware store for quilters.” “There’s everything you need to quilt,” she said. in 2015, where it now shares the building with the Gilroy Dispatch. in 2000, and after Williams took the reins, she moved it to its current location at 7455 Monterey St. The Nimble Thimble originally opened at the corner of Monterey and Martin streets. “It was the right time, right place,” she said. Williams quit her high-tech job in the Silicon Valley shortly after. An avid quilter, Williams said she was a regular at the shop, always joking with the owners that she wanted to buy the business. “It’s time to have some adventures,” she said.Ī Gilroy resident for 16 years, Williams bought the store from Dave and Marianne Peoples, who opened the Nimble Thimble in 1977. Williams said she can’t imagine being retired for long. Located at 7455 Monterey St., the store is open daily, with special sales throughout its final weeks. Williams, who has owned the downtown Gilroy quilting haven since 2013, recently announced that the shop will close on May 31. Linda Williams may be “retiring” (emphasis on the quotation marks), but she expects the Nimble Thimble will live on.

In the first part of the story, The Verdant and The Vile, Stomatavorus Rex wakes from its ancient slumber when Karkinos joins the ranks of the Necroscourge. Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another Monsterpocalypse Insider! This week, we’re going to look at the third installment of the Vegetyrants and Necroscourge Factions, as well as the last chapter in their story.įor those who have not been following the fiction, let’s catch you up on the story. We don’t expect these changes to move the needle much on the power level or performance of a model, but we are aiming to ensure the timing of everything happens in the correct order and the bookkeeping that surrounds some rules is minimal to none.īelow is the FAQ and Errata Document, which will be updated on the official Privateer Press Wiki soon. This will be the one stop shop for answers, clarity, and functionality. At the end of the document we also have a list of known misprints and card errors. Some changes will be as small as adding or taking away a word or two while others will offer a more concise understanding of how a model functions. We decided this would be the perfect time to launch our latest FAQ and Errata document to offer better clarity and ease-of-play to the game. You can head over and get it now.Īs the summer temps rise, everyone will be headed indoors too cool off.
#Monsterpocalypse kickstarter update#
They've posted up this year's FAQ/E&C update for the game. And that's what Privateer Press has done with Monsterpocalypse. If you want to make sure your game is running correctly and that gamers are getting the best experience out of it, you sometimes need to make adjustments to it. Yet the monastery nearly collapsed into a pile of rubble when Tengu became angry, so the monks had to try to teach him to control his emotions as well. Tengu Tsubute was a child prodigy of this order from a very young age, he could control the elements. High in the Akaishi Mountains of Japan dwells the Tenshi Seigikan, an ancient order of monks dedicated to the preservation of all that is good in the human race. In the solicitation text for these models, we reveal some of the tension behind these two monsters… Each of these boxes is a great pick up for any player, whether a new recruit or an old veteran.īefore we dive into the rules, I would be remiss if I didn’t reveal a little more about the backstory of these characters. These round out each Faction with its third release, bringing them in line with the other fully developed Factions. Hello, giant-monster fans! In today’s Insider, I will catch you up on the latest Monsterpocalypse releases from the Elemental Champions and Savage Swarm Factions.

Iceberg underwater

#Iceberg underwater free#
In glaciers, years of compression force out air pockets and gradually make the ice denser, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center. In the case of this jewel-like iceberg, the ice is probably very old. Melting can trigger calving, but it can also change the equilibrium of an iceberg, causing it to flip. Because of the varying densities of ice and saltwater, only about 10 percent of an iceberg will ever show at the surface, and that protruding tip will gather dirt and snow. Icebergs form when chunks of freshwater ice calve-or break off-from glaciers and ice shelves, as well as other icebergs.
#Iceberg underwater free#
Whereas most iceberg tips are covered in snow or have been weathered by the elements, this one was free of debris, exposing glassy, aqua-green ice with water flowing through it-“almost like an ant colony,” he says.Ĭornell’s guide suggested that the iceberg had recently flipped. “This particular iceberg at the time kind of blended in with all the crazy stuff we were seeing.”īut as they approached the mass, which rose about 30 feet out the water, Cornell understood his guide’s excitement. “Everything I was seeing was pretty exciting,” Cornell admits. While exploring Cierva Cove, a glacial bay off the peninsula, a scientist aboard Cornell's boat became excited by one iceberg in particular. “Everything is reflective and everything’s white,” recalls filmmaker Alex Cornell, who vacationed there last month with his family. “People had said that the first time you go, you’re kind of so overwhelmed that you take a lot of pictures of your feet and you don’t really know what’s going on … I definitely felt that,” he says with a laugh. Between the sun, the water and icy peaks, the beauty can be quite literally blinding. Snow-covered icebergs dominate the scene near the shore of the Antarctic Peninsula, the northernmost part of the icy south polar region.
