As mentioned Rouge felt the need to hide being pregnant from Amy so Amy wouldn't feel underaccomplished or like it's rubbed in, but the problem is Knuckles and Amy are close like siblings, so she visits Angel Island sometimes when she hasn't seen Knuckles in for awhile to check on him. Despite Rouge knowing this, it still sends her for a loop and she hides from her the whole time. Knuckles comes up with the excuse "Oh she's still out on that mission"
