they didn’t get to hang out ever since her good old friend blew up as an idol, but when those rare moments came along when she could escape the clasps of the limelight, they would spend it together. usually without much of a plan on how to go about hanging out. so here they were just walking a busy street. they’d already gotten their starbucks so what now? chorong watched their feet as they traveled, pointing to one of the many bold pigeons that didn’t even blink upon the arrival of a much larger and more powerful being than itself, “I bet you could touch it.”

“have you never worn a wig before?” chorong modeled her new cotton candy synthetic hair messily over her real hair, dark bangs shadowing pink ones. they were going to be wearing matching wigs for the valentine’s party tonight, of course she’d make it look nicer before they went though. she offered the baby pink wig to her friend, “put this on.”

sometimes making the first move wasn’t always the wisest choice. like right now, being the first person to step off the sidewalk at this crossing wouldn’t be very wise with the flow of traffic so unrelenting. normally it wasn’t wise to talk to strangers either, but she turned to the young man next to her and inquired, to the ear that didn’t have an earbud in, “what are you listening to?”

Since ‘getting some air’ couldn’t be used as a credible excuse, because she didn’t have to go home to get some air, Chorong fumbled over her words trying to think of something that didn’t sound as ridiculous as the truth. It was hard to tell her friend that she had to dip because her leftovers from that afternoon had soiled the contents of her purse, and she didn’t want to spend the rest of the night with a strong scent of spilt soup following them around and dripping down the side of her leg. “I…. had to get some air.”
