Anthony Bourdain is an influential figure in many peoples lives. He inspired me to travel more and step outside my comfort zone, he showed me what that could mean for my life and my success, that exploring the world without boundaries or judgement is the best way to experience all life has to give. I could not know the demons he faced, but I could tell you the countries he’s visited, the names of his restaurants, his books, and his TV shows. ... ... ... ... In talking about his death there is no way to skirt the issue. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death for people ages 10 to 34. This statistic should be terrifying. The scariest part for me is that I almost became part of the statistic, even after watching the toll suicide has on families and friends. ... ... ... I’ve seen the posts - check on your strong friends. Often, people with depression or other mental struggles may not verbalize their pain. Not even people closest to me were aware of what I was going through because I tried to be silent in my struggle — my cries for help looked only like strange behavior or attempts to garnish pity from people, but I could not even admit to myself the issues I was facing. ... ... ... Yes we need more love, more compassion, and more kindness, but we also need more people willing to offer professional help. If you are struggling I urge you to PLEASE seek professional attention, there is no weakness in seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. There are people who make healing you their life’s work, seek them out. And remember, you’re not alone 🧡 I love you 🧡 -Cierra - 🧡

I painted this last week to gift to someone important to me! 🎨🎨🎨#cierraursopoetry #cierraurso ... ... ... ... The beautiful human I made this for, Kristen ( @_mermaidmovement_ ), has played a large part in me getting back to my creativity. I’ve known her for two years and finally attended her Mermaid Awakening retreat this year. She hosted the retreat on Mother’s Day weekend & I wrote this poem right after a healing meditation with Kristen and Andrea ( @andeelove_ ). The meditation was intense, it was full of emotion, and it felt amazing to release and surrender. Simply sitting with eyes closed in meditation while listening to Kristen & Andrea speak to guide the healing made me feel like a weight lifted off of me. ... ... ... I shared these words with the women at the retreat right after the meditation. Painting it last week felt like I was really soaking in what the retreat gave me. It gave me so much love for myself, my words, my intelligence, my creativity, and my purpose of supporting women. ... ... ... The words came to me so clearly during the meditation and immediately I knew they had to be painted. This is about owning my power as a healer and a creator — I am currently in school studying for my ultimate goal of owning + running a holistic birthing center as an OB/GYN. I know I have years ahead of me, but it excites me to work for something that I have so much passion for: healing. ... ... ... I’m a firm believer in healing women because I think our collective feminine healing will be the cure for many modern maladies; not just physically, but also spiritually, mentally, and socially. 🧡 ... ... ... This poem is a reminder that I am a Fierce Medicine Woman, and so are you (even if you’re not a woman, every person has divine feminine deep within them, for this moment, see it). ... ... 🎨💛💚💙. ... ... I will be honest - some of my poetry comes from a dark place. But what I love about words is how honest they allow me to be. I went to an amazing retreat this last Mother’s Day weekend, hosted by Mama Mermaid, Kristen ( @_mermaidmovement_ ). I had the chance to really center myself and tap into the parts of me that need movement and healing. As I share my experiences with those close to me, I am becoming more aware of the work I did this weekend. I am so grateful to have Kristen and all the women that shared their knowledge at the retreat. Community is one of the most important things to foster growth, and I am so happy to have the support I need from the women both not involved and in the Mermaid Movement to achieve my goals 💪 The Mermaid Movement has definitely helped me realize my self worth from within — if you’re curious about what we do, message me!
