Madonna in a furcoat is unlike anything I've ever read before. I'm 16 pages in and I'm already fascinated. The book's style of narration is unfamiliar to me, an unnamed narrator at work narrating Raif Efendi's life through their interactions and observations. I like how the book is written, it's very thoughtful and poignant. Currently, I'm sitting on a train on my way home and this environment is very fitting with the book to me. :))

I realised how much of a mother I sounded earlier today when I couldn't find Rebecca on my shelf, even though I knew damn well deep down it wasn't actually missing and I actually had it. I was legit calling out "Rebeccaaaa, where are you?" like I lost my child at a shopping mall, only to realise the book was right in front of my face. 🤦🏻♀️ smth

the metamorphosis dialogue if gregor had a phone but he couldn't type for help because of his cockroach limbs (I'm terribly bored so I wrote this, basically a modern rendition I guess, with some comedy?? enjoy)
"How can an abundance of potential be discarded like this? All of these technological advancements appear in this age, yet none can capture the pitiful state of mankind behind man's ingenious stubbornness!"
As the salesman's limbs fly helplessly in the air, moving from one angle to another, attempting to control his now vermin body, the clock strikes quarterly to seven.
"Gregor?"
His mother knocked at the door twice, growing with concern as his iPhone alarm clock still was going off at a rapid pace.
"Gregor!" His mother yelled with insistence, as she continued, "You will be late for work! Don't miss your train. Open up at once, you are scaring me. Are you ill?"
His sister joined where his mother stood, anxiously anticipating for a response while Gregor tried to not make his now squeaky voice obvious. It sounded like he applied a voice changer on those discord calls his boss would occasionally make, except it was at a much higher and obnoxious pitch.

One of the most amazing feelings in the world is when you're so invested in a book, that whenever you're far away from it, it's on your mind 24/7 and you can't stop not thinking about it 💯💯
This gets me out of my reading slump the majority of the time, so if you're stuck in one currently, try reading something that's super interesting or fun.
