⤴This sometimes happens. I used to grip my sticks so tightly that I would injure myself and have to take time off to stretch & heal (weeks at a time - very deflating). I realized that if I wanted to do this long-term, I had to start taking better care of my body, which meant reinventing my technique all over again. And I did. And it sucked!! Imagine a writer re-learning penmanship. But it's allowed me to safely and steadily grow as a musician, bringing me closer to my goals. And now I can't hold onto the damn things sometimes! I am grateful to have had an important personal milestone gig to start the year, but what's also cool is that I'm home, safe & warm thanks to my tank which recently hit 190,000 miles. 7 hours spent in the car yesterday and late last night, most of it in steady hard rain with random patches of thick fog. The Turnpike was a mess btw, what the fuck was that, do people just hyrdoplane to work down there.. ? 8D nylon-tip for practice, 8D wood-tip for performance. Check out the color difference! Made for jazz & combo, but I use them for reggae and funk.
