Ahhh, the shot of this random guy helping Superman stand up warms my heart.

One thing many modern superhero films miss out on, I feel is the Superhero's relationship to the random people they save. Many MCU films have escalated to the point of numbers so high its unthinkable- and they've lost that personal touch. Moments like this are a visual metaphor for what makes the hero keep fighting, keep going, keep standing up. There's a reason this scene from Spiderman II is one of my favorites ever.

I'd truly be the worst person to stick into a timeloop because I'd really just spend the first 5 years catching up on my book tbr, the next 7 on all the movies and shows that've Been On My List for ages, and then another decade on ao3. like sure nothing may stick but my memories will and i can just go into a supermarket to get snacks and wine each day, and i have art to indulge in. like thanks for the hints on how to get out but respectfully, I am busy

Matinees used to be a great deal. Now it’s just two dollars off the ticket price in my area. But they track that into the service fee so it’s no help at all.

Decided I am going to go see the new Superman, in the theater, at the multiplex (though the smaller one)... then realized I have not been to see a movie in a theater since before 2020, and that was the little adorable theater in the wealthy town (closed since, due to Covid, sigh.) Anyway. So. The protocol now is... you have to buy a ticket in advance and choose seats? You don't just walk up anymore?

I was planning to go tomorrow for matinee prices if those are still a thing. God I sound old. A plague and capitalism kept me out of theaters and also all the movies big-budget enough to be seen on a big screen were Marvel crap and all the small movies I could rent and watch at home.
