So I just had my Breyerfest models get delivered and somehow they all arrived and the models themselves look to be in decent condition. I say it that way because the shipping boxes where a little dented and the one box had the tape pushed aside to the point that it could flip open at any point 😬
Like, the dented boxes are whatever, but you're telling me you didn't bother to add a piece of support tape to keep it closed???

INFORMATION
item : Breyer Model Horse
mold : Haflinger Mare by Brigitte Eberl
model : Bay Pinto Pony #920
size : Classic/Freedom
year : 2017-2020
coloring : Bay pinto
ABOUT
As far as I can tell, this model was just apart of the lineup of assorted Classic horses for that time frame. So not a portrait horse or anything like that.
MY THOUGHTS
I adore this girl so much oh my god.
I think I got her Fall 2019. I had just popped into Farm and Fleet to check out their Toyland selection and happened upon their Breyer selection. By this point, I hadn't done anything with Breyers for several years; the collector in me had been dormant, but this was sort of the first time I had seen these since getting my first job and I realized I had my own money now. So I bought a lot - 2 classics and 3 stablemate foal surprise sets (and maybe a few random stablemates?? idk I just remember those few). But up until a year ago she had been in her box in storage. (Heads up - when i go to post the other horses from that purchase, this paragraph will be copy pasted)
She was just a clear stand out to purchase. She has a beautiful mahogany tone to her coloring and the mold has become a favorite for me. She looks so gentle and has a movement to her that makes me feel like she could start walking away at any moment. There's so many molds that, yes they portray movement, but they just feel so stagnant. She doesn't to me. If I was able to get a duplicate (or dupes of another colorway), she would be perfect for a custom horse I've been obsessed with trying to make. Her markings also give her some bonus character; even if she didn't have them, I feel she would be a gorgeous horse.
Unfortunately, I do not have a name for her...I'll have to remedy that.

How fast on average do some of the Breyerfest exclusive models sell out?
I'm asking because this will be my first time attending Breyerfest, but it will be virtually. Thankfully there's only four models total that I'm interested in (at least in terms of the online ones), but I'm still curious as to how fast things tend to sell out

So nearly a year ago I came home to find that a hanging shelf in our kitchen had gotten bumped somehow resulting in several items being knocked over. The culprit was a cutting board that was propped up that had fallen forward, this knocking things off, but it would have had to be jostled (allegedly, but I could have been too vertical and fell on it's own). Some of which were Breyer stablemates and in doing a headcount of the items I realized that one of the foals was missing. Checking all around the area revealed no goal whatsoever.
Now, directly underneath the shelf is a flip top trashcan that's controlled by a foot pedal so it's always closed unless you open it by pedal or are able to prop the lid open. Said trashcan was propped open and the trash bag was gone meaning my fiance took out the trash before he left the house.
Mental leaps naturally lead to the idea that my fiance accidentally knocked into the shelf while grabbing the garbage and the foal potentially fell into the trash and got thrown out unknowingly.
HOWEVER, my fiance claimed he never hit the shelf and had no knowledge of the disaster.
So if that is indeed true, the goal could potentially be underneath the fridge or, more horrifically, the stove. I'm assuming fridge since I think I would have smell melting plastic but over just hoping for fridge.
I'm bringing this up now because I only just acquired a yard stick in order to swipe under the fridge since we didn't have any that would have been able to accomplish the feat.
Wish me luck 🤞

I have a craaaaaazy theory that only my photos that I edited get flagged. The first two posts were edited and got flagged, but my latest two were unedited and have not gotten flagged yet. Some food for thought I guess

INFORMATION
item : Breyer Model Horse
mold : Bouncer (Welsh Pony) by Kathleen Moody
model : Brookside Pink Magnum (#1482)
size : Traditional
year : 2012 - present
coloring : red roan
ABOUT
I don't know how to best word this it sounding like a copy pasted thing so...sorry. But this is a portrait model made of Brookside Pink Magnum, a section B stallion who is a champion in Welsh and Pony Sport Classes. This lad commanded enough attention to earn himself a portrait model! So congrats dude!
MY THOUGHTS
Despite being introduced in 2012, I only just got him spring/summer 2024! He was actually one of my first Breyer purchases since about 2019 and the start of my reintroduction to Breyer collecting. The only reason I even was ordering Breyers is because I really would like a custom Epona Breyer and found a few CollectA's that would be a good option. Since I was trying to get free shipping, this lad was just the perfect amount to put me at that mark. After being a Funko collector for the past several years it was habit to keep him in the box until I realized that that didn't matter for Breyers (technically it really doesn't matter for Funkos so I've been taking those out more too) so he's now out and proud on my shelf!
Also, I think he's really cute and he's on the Bouncer mold which is one of my favorite molds. It looks very sweet and gentle and all around precious. I was obsessed with Bouncer when he was first released, but never had the opportunity to obtain him. So while he's on my wishlist, other horses on this mold are fair game - like Brookside Pink Magnum! I've also become very fond of roans over the years (which will become very obvious as I post more of my collection) and he's an interesting dusty pink shade.

INFORMATION
item : Breyer Model Horse
mold : Warmblood (G2 ) by Kathleen Moody and Cantering Foal (G2) by Sarah Rose
model : Warmblood Stallion and Foal set (#59976)
size : Stablemate
year : 2000-2002
coloring : Warmblood Stallion - red roan pinto || Cantering foal - bay
ABOUT
Another of the many horse and foal sets. I find it interesting that the two models for this are made by the same artists who sculpted the other horse and foal set I posted. Then again, Kathleen Moody has created some absolute bangers when it comes to model horses - and a lot of them!!
MY THOUGHTS
Don't hate me, but I remember not liking these two as much when I was little. I genuinely don't remember why and it certainly didn't stop me from playing with them (that foal has been through a lot). I think I always made the stallion the villain maybe? Again, I don't know. I'm almost 30 and that was a long time ago.
Now though, I don't carry that sentiment and do appreciate them. I've become very fond of roans and he's an absolute beauty! And if there is one thing I remember, it's that I named him Dandy. Somehow I think he was the only one who got a name out of the four lmao? But yeah, these two are lovely and are now shelf pieces :)

INFORMATION
item : Breyer Model Horse
mold : American Saddlebred (G2 ) by Kathleen Moody and Scratching Foal (G2) by Sarah Rose
model : Saddlebred Mare and Foal set (#59978)
size : Stablemate
year : 2000-2002
coloring : Saddlebred Mare - dapple grey, bald face, darker grey mane and knees, dark grey to light tan gradient tail, four stockings, red ribbon || Scratching foal - black with purple/brown undertones, long star, black main/tail
ABOUT
One of the many horse and foal sets that Breyer has released. I don't think I can say too much about them?
MY THOUGHTS
I absolutely adore these two because these are among my first Breyers! I got these two, Capella, and two more Stablemates for Christmas when I was little. I won't like, once I started looking at info on them, I got really confused. Despite these being retired in 2002, I received them in 2005. Seems wherever my parents got them from had some leftover stock lol. Besides that, the two were some of my favorites! I adore the elegance of the Saddlebred model and I've always been fond of black horses - and this foal is a cutie!
Once again, since I had these as a kid you can see evidence of how much I loved them based on the playtime rubs and scratches. Unfortunately, how I had them displayed/stored resulted in the Saddlebred yellowing a lot on one side. If possible, I would love to fix that and restore her because it breaks my heart to see her that way.

Information
item : Breyer Model Horse
mold : Foundation Stallion by Chris Hess
model : Capella (Abaco Barb) (#1280)
size : Traditional
year : 2005 benefit limited edition, some list 2004 as well so could be late 2004-2005
coloring : bay pinto, black mane, bi-colored tail, bald face, pink muzzle, blue bi-colored eyes
About
From my research, this was a limited release regular run in 2005 as a benefit model. A portion of sales of this model went to Arkwild, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving endangered species. In this case the organization worked with the Government of the Bahamas and the Wild Horses of Abaco Preservation Society (WHOA) to help Abaco Barbs. Supposedly, Breyer opted to produce this model because of an Idaho 4H club that adopted the breed as a special project. The club encouraged Breyer to help their cause and create awareness of endangered breeds. Breyer created the Breyer Benefit horse program and this was the first beneficiary!
My thoughts
Capella holds a very special place in my heart. He was one of my very first Breyers that I ever got! it feels fitting for the first collection post on this blog to be him. My parents gave him for me for Christmas (based on the year released he was new in box from the store) along with a few others (to be posted about) and it kicked off my love and obsession for Breyers! i was a big fan of horses when I was really little and that love has come back once again. This is also the first I found out more info about this model since, as a child, my thoughts about him were "oooooh pretty horse" as opposed to "let me investigate the background of this model".
Since he was given to me as a child, you can see he has gained some rubs and scrapes from playtime, but overall I'm surprised he's not in worse shape considering. He will also most likely be the only Foundation Stallion model I will own because it's not really my favorite mold (vintage molds are just very hit or miss for me).
Capella is still a very pretty, well-loved, horse and model and I'm happy to have him in my collection as a shelf piece! :)

Welcome to my collections!
+ ABOUT
Due to a lack of apps that would really help me keep tabs on what I have, I'm making a blog to help! If there's one thing you need to know about me it's that I love stuff - especially plushies and figurines. Here I intend to sporadically post images of different collection pieces with a little blurb about what it is, how I got it, and whatever else I can think of. Since I love stuff and end up collecting things in waves throughout the years I have quite a bit. Please keep in mind that these items have been acquired over 29 years.
Be that as it may, this won't be covering every single collection I have. Nor will I be having a regular posting schedule. I may upload a few things at once or just every once in a while. A lot of why I'm doing this is because some things have been in storage so long I have no idea what I even have and I want to reconnect with it.
This blog may also change names from time to time because I don't know if I've settled on the name officially or not.
+ IS THIS STUFF FOR SALE?
It's also important to note that none of this stuff is for sale. Again, merely documenting what I have and I figure others may find an interest :)
+ WHY TUMBLR?
This is one of the few social media platforms that is still cool and likes photos.
+ WHAT ARE YOUR COLLECTIONS?
Great question! My current focus on what I'll showcase here are the following
Breyer Model Horses (tagged as #Breyers, #Breyer Horses, #Breyer Model Horses, #Breyer, #Breyer(insert size) )
Beanie Babies (mostly the classic ones) (tagged as #Beanie Babies)
More may be added, but only time will tell!
As for now for this pinned post, I think that's all. If I think of any more important info for this makeshift FAQ post I'll do an update on it.
For now, enjoy the posts!
