As someone who has been using em dashes since I was starting to write in the 2000s, yeah, I'm not changing for some bots. I also like using the rule of three, it's satisfying!

Being told to stop using em dashes in my writing because ChatGPT uses them a lot and people might think it's written by AI...

I need it to be understood. Last night my husband showed me that video by saltydkdan. This morning over breakfast he looks at me very seriously and this conversation happens.

Him: So I've been thinking about how you'll resolve the issue of the control collars in your fanfic.

Me: I've already got a plan for—

Him: No, just hear me out. Knuckles breaks into a facility of Eggman’s and he sees a collared alpha in a cage, a monkey...

Me: Wait...

Him: And there will be a pile of dirt nearby that he can dig into with his shovel claws, and he'll dig up a device with an Eggman insignia on it...

Me: Babe...

Him: And it says "Collar destruction switch. Press to destroy."

Me, head in my hands, trying not to crack up: .......but what does it do?

Him, completely deadpan: I'm glad you asked, you see—

Maybe it'll sound a bit like I'm fishing for sympathy or something, but I'd like a moment just to vent. I've been feeling a bit of a dip in my mental health that's hopefully temporary. It's been hitting right in the anxiety and self-worth. Some days I feel like there's no point in sharing the things I make, whether that be my art or my writing, or that my creations don't impact people. I'm aware enough to know these are irrational feelings, but anxiety—especially in my AuDHD brain—is not a rational beast.

I drew this for the feelings. I think I'm going to hit the gym, do a 5k on the treadmill (try not to pass out from athsma), take a shower, and hopefully reenact this drawing with my husband when he gets home. Here's hoping all that is healing. If you read all of this, thanks for listening to my vent.

the fur on the palms of his hands is softer than everywhere else on his body - it's like hoglet fluff

his paw pads are soft and squishy (like a cat's)

he has retractable claws that are long and sharp like razor blades

the fur on the palms of his hands is thinner and sparser than everywhere else - you can even see his skin on the creases and in between his fingers

his paw pads are rough and dry (like a dog's)

additionally, he has a couple old scars and cracks

he has blunt, brittle (non-retractable) claws that he trims regularly so they don't get in the way

So I made these OCs originally just as like background characters in a fanfic I've been writing, but I really started to love them a lot. I had to draw them and might make them more relevant or reuse them.

The fanfic in question is a Sonadow, but before I link it here, I must warn you: it IS 18+, it is omegaverse, it is going to have at least a couple of smut chapters (the main focus is the romance/drama/action), and it's much more adult than the content I post here! Do not read if you are not alright with that!
