Little update on art

The last few months have been one journey after the next. I wanna thank everyone who’s request commissions this year. I found it an enjoyable process and everyone has been so kind.

I feel like I’m in a rut art wise and I don’t really like what I draw and haven’t figured out how to change it so comics have, not on the back burner, but definitely off the stove.

Good things are happening right now, so I’m pleased but it’s also big changes to my status quo. As I acclimate I’m going to carve out time to sit and draw and find joy in the process again.

Updates on lotura and until dawn comics:

These comics started as little experiments just to process some of my favorite stories and what I really love about them. Their stories have definitely gotten away from me (in a good way) and it’s hard to chase down plot points. For lotura; I have some new ideas on how to progress the story and found some fun art direction to take it that’ll alleviate some of the burden of sitting still and working on it for too long. For ud; there’s prolly about 12 more panels and then that will be as afar as I take it.

I wanted to open up commissions this month, but due to those status quo changes it will have to put off. The soonest they’ll open is the last weekend of June, once again with a new graphic.

What if when Shiro tried to leave with Lotor he was stopped, put in a sleep, and Lotor once again imprisoned by the paladins, has to negotiate his knowledge of the alteans whereabouts.

~Some choice potential lines~ Allura: We cannot let Lotor go! He has much to answer for! >[

Kieth: We can’t just leave Shiro like this. Allura: And I’m not letting the last of my people be used as weapons in this war! Lotor knows where they are. Keith: They’re through an entire abyss, time doesn’t make sense there. Allura: You made it. Along with two other people. Lotor: I know the way there. There are specific paths that minimize the effects of the abyss.

In the head space that this au is in, Lotor is more altean than Zarkon was really expecting. Exiled from the empire Lotor finds the Alteans and establishes a colony with the help of some lovely half galra ladies we know and love, and one named Merla. (I tried to stick with the vld design of the potentially actually Merla character, but gave up and made my own)
