Your shift was just about over, fatigue clung to you like some kind of shadow, the consequence of a sleepless night. The day had been just as uneventful as every other day, only the occasional appearance of people stopping in for gas or a quick snack.

You were so lost in your thoughts, completely ignoring the man in front of you as if he didn't exist—Not registering his presence at all until he was standing directly in front of you, clearing his throat to draw your attention away from whatever you had been preoccupied with. Startled, you looked up and met his gaze, giving him an apologetic smile as he sat down a bag of chips and a bottle of Pepsi.

The man appeared to be in his late forties, with a neatly trimmed gray beard and a demeanor as serious as his stern expression. You quickly scanned his items, the familiar beeps of the register breaking the silence. Before you could tell him the total, you were interrupted.

"Can I get a pack of Marlboro?" His voice low and gravelly, carrying a kind of rough authority.

You nodded, grabbing the red pack of cigarettes and setting them on the counter. "These?" You asked to confirm.

He nodded and handed his ID over. Samuel Gardiner, born 1976. Looked about right. After double-checking you passed the ID back to him.

Just as you did, the chime of the door signaled someone else entering. You caught a glimpse of a blue hoodie heading toward the drinks coolers but didn't pay much attention. You were focused finishing up with Samuel.

"Have a good day," he said, gathering his items—Pepsi and chips in one hand, cigarettes in the other as he trudged out the door.

The door swung shut with a soft thud, leaving you alone with the new customer. He approached the counter softly, placing a can of Red Bull down with deliberate movements. He was slightly taller than average, with messy dark brown hair that hung over his forehead, though grooming wasn't a priority.

There was something about the way he moved—unhurried, almost purposeful—that caught your attention. When his eyes met yours, dark and nearly black, they seemed to linger for just a moment too long, studying you. The intensity unsettled you, and for a moment, you wondered if you imagined it.

You picked up the Red Bull and scanned it, offering him a polite smile. "Three dollars," you said, keeping your tone light. He didn't speak, merely nodded as he fished a few crumpled bills from his pocket and handed it to you in silence.

"Would you like a receipt?" You asked, opening the cash register. He shook his head, his silence stretching on. Something felt... off. Maybe he wasn't the talkative type. Or perhaps he simply didn't like engaging with strangers. For a moment, you even considered the possibility that he might be mute.

"Alright then, have a good day!" You said automatically, the words tumbling out before you realized how ridiculous they sounded. It wasn't day anymore—it was nearly midnight. Smooth Y/n. Real smooth.

He took the Red Bull, his steps almost soundless as he moved toward the door. Just as he reached it, he hesitated, and you caught the faintest murmur, almost a whisper come from him. "Y-you too."

So, he wasn't mute after all.

Beep, Beep...

you sighed putting the two items into a bag

"You look rough," A middle-aged woman said as she bounced a child in her arms that seemed to be around 2-3 years old while another kid who looked slightly older clung to her shirt.

You smiled and spoke while grabbing a candy bar off the table. "Long day."

She scoffed "I can relate." She gushed as she side-eyed the kid in her hands. There was an awkward silence between the two of you after her comment.

"Your total will be 25.75," you said, finally breaking the silence as she rolled her eyes groaning.

"I can't believe it cost this much for only a few things." she groaned as she sat her child down and started roaming through her purse, "there it is" she sighed in relief—pulling out a leather clutch wallet. "I thought I was gonna have to make a run for it." you both chuckled at her joke as she paid for her stuff and then put her card back in her wallet. "Have a good day, honey" she sighed, giving you a small smile before walking away.

You glanced at the clock,

Ugh... You huffed, looking around the bland gas station before your eyes met the ground as you continued to wait for your shift to be over so that you could finally go home and sleep in peace. You looked at the clock again.

Why can't it just be 12 already... I just want to leave... You looked around the store to see if anyone was there but from what you could see the store seemed empty except for you. You decided to pass the last 8 minutes by buying yourself an energy drink and scrolling through your phone. Before you knew it, it was already midnight. You looked up as the bell rang on the door and someone walked in.

Eat, sleep, wake up, then go to work. Those things basically described your life. All you did was work then come back home just to have to work again a few hours later. You stopped talking to all your friends and family for the most part, not being able to have enough time to give them a call or a message unless it was a happy birthday or a congratulations. You needed to find a better job, so you weren't known as a cashier working at a shitty gas station that gets robbed twice a month. You still lived in a decent house that you could at least thank your job for. It had two stories and 1 bedroom with two bathrooms. You were able to move out a while ago soon after you turned 18, saying goodbye to friends and moving to a more secluded area right outside of Denver.

Pride Month is upon us again and so it is time to repost my little guy, Hue! I’m wishing everyone a safe, supportive, positive, and enlightening Pride, whether you’re all the way “out” or not!

Today, I would like to commemorate an event which has laid a very profound impact on the internet.

Ten years ago on this day (06/08/09), a forum website called SomethingAwful held a photoshop contest titled “create paranormal images”.  The contest would require participants to edit ordinary photographs into creepy-looking images, and then try to pass them off as authentic photos on other paranormal forums.

Two days later, on June 10th, a user by the name Victor Surge would find this thread, and become inspired.  He submitted the two pictures above, featuring a tall, faceless monster which would stalk children, who would then disappear.  He called his monster “the Slender Man”. After this initial post, Surge and others would expand on the character and the story, creating one of the internet’s most famous monsters.  The Slender Man proved to be popular enough to spread to other websites, with 4chan, Deviantart, and TV Tropes all having their own Slender-Mania. On June 20th of that same year, another user on the SomethingAwful forums found the Slender Man, and also wanted to contribute.  Noticing nobody had made any videos yet of the monster, he sat down with some of his friends and planned out a video webseries involving a former college film student discovering and unravelling the mysteries surrounding Slender Man; this would become Marble Hornets, one of the first horror-themed ARG’s of the internet.

That all happened ten years ago.  Ten years of haunting the darkest corners of the internet, and Slender Man has built up a surprisingly dense resume, for a fictional monster.  Several popular webseries, a couple hit games, at least two movies, even inspiring other characters in seperate series like the Silence in Dr Who and the Enderman in Minecraft.  And all this within a ten-year period.

I think this just attests to how much humans can be inspired by an idea.  From a small handful of edited photographs, we collectively constructed a new monster which lurks in our nightmares, and now it almost seems as natural as the horror mythos he was based on.  For better or worse, the Slender Man seems to be here to stay. Happy Birthday, Slendy!  Here’s to hoping you continue to be both terrifying and terrific!

Toby(for obvious reasons) has ditched his last name and everything else that connects him to his past, the only thing that he carried into his new life is his first name and no. HE DOES NOT GO BY TICCI TOBY! He hates being called that because that's what he was called by a kid by his bullies... which bullied him so bad he had to be homeschooled

I can’t really see Toby making friends with people in the manor either but instead being more of acquaintances with everyone while also being very passive aggressive towards every being he interacts with.

When Toby first joined the manor though, he did have an on and off relationship with Natalie which left him even more messed up than before and now he has relationship issues as well

Toby tends to have a lot of stuff in his hair all the time (blood, leaves, etc.) and if we’re being honest, he probably doesn’t shower- jkjk he showers every time he gets the chance, though that's only really when he's at a victim's house and has time to spare.

He also doesn’t eat much due to being out in the woods all the time for Slenderman so the best thing he gets is also stuff he takes from his victim's house...

After killing someone they kind of just make themselves at home and catch up on everything they need to while taking some stuff with them to go.

Also, he's a STALKER. Not even intentionally at times but it's something he's taken with him from his very... unusual job...

He's got a midwestern style going on and has probably tried to pierce his ears and a bunch of other things before but it ended up getting infected.

He actually tries to take care of the cuts he gets on missions and his gash because when he was younger, his mom used to freak out about the littlest of things and when he'd get a cut or anything his mom would say if he didn't take care of it, it would get infected and fall off. And now he takes that to heart even if he didn't when he was younger and getting hurt all the time.

But his habits just don't let his gash heal properly and he continues to chew at it, never giving it time to heal.

But, speaking of getting hurt. He used to get hurt A LOT when he was younger but now, he doesn't. Because after coming back from missions hurt almost every time due to him being reckless everyone started refusing to help patch him up... So now he knows how to be more careful and take care of wounds!

But yeah... that's the end of these head canons lol I might make some more for this silly guy later on though

You’re all in the same main class, but you have certain classes which separate you.

It’s a private school so any bullying towards Toby is less common, but he has an entire group basically against him being in the school (they find him really annoying and not worthy of attending their school)

Lyra and Toby are taller than you now. About a head taller. Yup, a COMPLETE switch up from middle school. They tease you about this, ESPECIALLY Toby.

‘’Why are you so short, hu-huh??’’ And he’s grinning like a maniac. Hit him and he’ll laugh.

He’s much bigger now since he was quick to get himself involved with the gym on his campus and a LOT of outdoor activities. It helps him vent out his anger and frustrations. Did I mention he does a lot of wood chopping? He’s fascinated by hatchets. . . Wow! Wonder how that’s gonna affect him in the future.

Lyra’s the popular girl! But she’s kind and awesome,and she makes sure to bring you to every party she has access to. You two party a LOT. If Toby joins, it’s to be you and Lyra’s body guard. He doesn’t know what to do at parties and sorta just stands there beside you waiting for suggestions. Eventually he’ll loosen a bit up.

Lyra’s a cheerleader and you’re her biggest fan. You shout the loudest from the crowd during her performances, ‘’that’s MY girl!’’ And shit everyone thinks you’re dating now??

She had to clarify that you weren’t dating on her twitter. People were both surprised (and disappointed). Toby spammed L to those who said homophobic shit. He gets into arguments on twitter a LOT.

Speaking about arguments, Toby gets more physical as years pass. It’s not uncommon to be wrestled by the guy. He loves asserting any and all power over you. Why? Cause he’s a jerk and he craves your full attention at times. YOU’LL NEVER WIN SORRY THAT GUY IS INHUMANELY STRONG. Never does it to Lyra though. She can smack him and he won’t raise a finger.

Toby’s still reserved but more confidently now. He’s not reserved in the way that, ‘look at that guy, what a loner!’’ It’s more, ‘’yeah I’m not gonna mess with that guy he’s kinda weird’’. He likes it that way. Toby wants only to be around you and Lyra, anyway.

YOU HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS THOUGH. (Toby’s secretly tweaking at that). You spend a lot of time with them but make sure to fill in on Toby’s needs. Your main is Lyra and Toby though.

How are you in class?

Lyra and you, to your parent’s delight, are the golden students. You excel in every subject, except German. It’s so difficult??

Toby corrects you during german class. He turns around on his chair to face you. ‘’It’s ich not ish. Wow, since when was I - don’t throw! - so smart?’’

He says that because he sucks in basically every other subject (except p.e, which is optional). He targets the hell out of you if you join p.e. You’re backed into a wall and he’s standing in front of you with a ball in his hand. ‘’Run, come on! Want to see how you’d -wow!- escape this.’’ Anyway back to German class. Toby will tell you to say certain phrases.

‘’Say ich liebe dich’’ . You stare at him and raise your eyebrow questioning him with the look on your face. ‘’Come on, juh-just do it!’’ He’d roll his eyes at your stubbornness. After you do it, he smiles. He makes. A heart with his hands and winks at you. ‘’Ich liebe dich auch.’’

After you found out what he meant through studying in class, you were like ????? Lyra giggled.

NGL you two are in a situationship. None of you are adressing the tension. When Lyra asks Toby about it he’s like, ‘’can’t a guy tuh-tease his - My girl! Woo, She’s my girl!- … Shut up! Damn.’’ He was saying that to his tourettes more than Lyra. His ears were RED.

This guy is so fucking mean for no reason but hates whenever anyone else is mean to you

He bullies you because he doesn't know how to respond to his own emotions and he has absolutely 0 experience. Plus, he thinks you're only talking to him to mess with him at first

I can see him falling for someone because they were nice to him or because he found them physically attractive as bad as it may sound to some people. But, he does know when someone is only being nice because they feel bad or they are just trying to mess with his feelings he just wants to be treated like a normal human being not get made fun of or have people be overly nice to him because of his disorders but we can get more into those emotions another time.

Even though he can most of the time tell the difference between genuine kindness and people feeling bad, sometimes he may think that people are messing with him when they actually are being genuinely nice because he overthinks everything and lets his bad thoughts take over a lot of the time.

Would definitely zone out while staring at you as he bites his nails and hands... Gets so many side eyes and weird stares because of it too

Reminder though that he isn't some soft and shy bundle of joy who is just hurt, he is crazy and is slowly going under the control of Slenderman. He can have major mood swings and will most likely make you end up not liking him for the way he treats you at first, he doesn't mean it tho he's just a lil delulu 😊

Overall, your experience is gonna be a rough 5/10 unless you don't mind his harsh words then it'd be like a 6.5 - 7.5
