6 - 8 hours. During the 2017 eclipse, I drove to another town as my hometown was just barely in the shadow, and I wanted full totality. It would've been the first day of my senior year, but school was out due to eclipse reasons. I previously (and still kinda do) had a fear of driving on the highway (it fast), but I sucked it up and managed to get there and take pictures. The drive home would have been only a couple hours if half the entire state wasn't passing through my hometown. If I remember to, I'll find the photos and post them in a reblog.

So, you might or might not have other people in the car but no taking turns and swapping drivers. Just you driving for the whole day
