The Merrow (murúch in Irish) is a mermaid in Irish folklore.

what separates a merrow from a typical mermaid is their magical cap (Irish: cochaillín draíochta) that they use in order to travel between water and dry land. If a merrow's cap is taken from them while they are on land, they will not be able to return to the water until they have it back.

Merrow Eire for Mermay! I really wanted to make more art about Irish mythology, and figured this was a perfect time! technically, I've given him physical characteristics only ascribed to Women merrows, however the only physical description of a marrow who is a man: a) makes them obnoxiously ugly to explain why a marrow maiden would want to sleep with humans and b) comes from a 19th century story with no confirmed mythological basis and was in fact an adaptation of a German fairy tail. So, I elected to ignore the description lol.

Managed to get something quick done for Valentine's! I hope you all had an amazing day. Meanwhile my last exam of the season is tomorrow, so I've been pretty busy. Here's hoping I can make something more detailed for next year!
