"Ah-- H-hey!" Laughing a bit despite himself, Rui fixed his now messy hair. It was definitely an interesting experience talking to Joe, even for just this short period of time. When the boy had ventured over to strike up a conversation, he hadn't had very high hopes. But, he was gaining more out of it than he expected to...

"It is nice, though, having others to talk to..." He said after a moment, looking away. As he thought about Joe's words, his smiled dimmed a bit, becoming more sad. "For a long time the only friend I had was X... I shut myself away from the outside and only focused only on my goals... Of course, I had good reason to stay invisible. But, I think I'm beginning to realize that there's more that that..."

"Oh! Ah.. S- sorry." He said, looking back at the other with an apologetic smile. "I'm rambling, aren't I?"

  "Good." Joe raised a hand and placed it atop the younger boy’s head, ruffling that hair of his almost playfully. "Hajime and Sugane both seem to have taken a liking to you—it’ll do them, as well as you, to have another friend. Especially one that understands all of this… alien stuff.” Joe chuckled, taking away his hand from Rui before sliding that same hand into the pocket of his jacket top.

"Food...?" He repeated, tilting his head to one side. Did the girl want him to make her food? That was going to be a hard request to fulfill seeing as the boy had no food on him, or even a means to even prepare some. However, thinking on it more, there was something he could do. Giving the girl a friendly smile, he knelt down a bit. "I believe there is a confectionery shop close by. If you want, I could take you there and buy you some treats?"

  Keeping her stoic upfront the petite green hair female kept curious pools looked on the raven male. The corner of her lips twitched aching to make some type of notion; a greeting, a comment, anything but her lips kept sealed shut. Why was it hard for her to open up on the spot when making a first encounter? Though she did make the first approach and she was not going to back down now. “….food…”

"Yes, I understand..." He said knowingly. It was true, he had made a lot of enemies from this unfortunate turn of events. Not only was he threatened by Berg Katze himself, but also by those who believed him a terrorist, even after his public apology. Nodding his head, he offered the other a small, reassuring smile. "I'll be careful, I promise."

  "Right, update the world.” Joe repeated in his own voice, “Look, for now though just worry about your own life—its good that you’re trying to help, but until we get back GALAX from that alien bastard, you’re just endangering yourself.” Joe wasn’t exactly scolding the boy, rather he was just reminding him of what he was getting further involved in. “I’m not trying to dissuade you or anything but… be careful, y’know?”

Ever since Berg Katze had kissed his identity away and taken over X and the CROWDS, Rui rarely ventured outside. Not only was there the danger of running into the alien himself, but of those who still despised him even after his public apology. However, he couldn't stay cooped up and sheltered forever.

Soon the urge to breath fresh air and stretch his legs was too much, and the raven haired boy found himself strolling down the street, not too far from the G-Crew's apartment complex. He thought he must look extremely silly to passersby, jumping at even the faint rustle of leaves, but he had good reason to be so paranoid. However, the longer he walked, the more relaxed he became, that is, until he heard the all too familiar malicious giggling. Turning on his heels, he came face to face with evil.

"Y- y- you!" Rui stammered, his whole body going cold at the sight of the alien.

"To update the world, yes..." He said a bit pensively. In the time since his identity was stolen and Berg Katze had taken over X and the CROWDS, Rui had had plenty of time to reflect on his poor choices. He still held on to his ideals, his recent revelations had not altered them, but he knew now how wrong he had been to trust in the alien's help. "I guess you're right, though. Since I've been unable to log into GALAX, things have been different..."

  "Heh, no interest in playing? I can respect your seriousness, but you’re still young.” Joe folded his arms across his chest, leaning against a wall as he looked down to Rui. “I can understand that you made GALAX out of pure intentions—but sometimes, you can’t do nothing but work. Though, I think you already realized this—after all, with GALAX you wanted things to get the point where people took it into their own hands to help the world, am I right?”

"Play?" The boy repeated, shaking his head slightly. "I have no interest in playing. Besides, ah... Those two aren't here at the moment..."

"Ah- Well—" Rui, not yet entirely sure how to interact with the more laid-back gatchaman, fumbled for words. Clearing his throat a bit, he continued. "Now that we are all working together… That is, now that I’ve joined your cause… I thought maybe I should get to know everyone better. So…"
