My Witch Hat Atelier oc, Darian

Darian grew up with his mother, a simple farmer, and knew nothing of magic. His father had been a witch, and left his mother alone because of it. One day, when Darian was old enough, his father returned and brought him to an atelier to become a witch. Since Darian hadn’t grown up around magic, and didn’t even know how to read, he was very behind all of his peers and always felt like an outcast. Even as he learned more, he still never quite fit in, but he did grow close to one of his fellow apprentices. He admired the Knights Moralis and wanted to join them one day. Darian always resented his father for abandoning his mother and taking him away from her, and for a long time he resented his mother for allowing it to happen. One day, many years after he left and close to the end of his apprenticeship, he finally visited her again. She did not remember him at all. He realized her memories had been erased by the Knights for getting involved in witch affairs. Darian was devastated, and mad at himself for resenting her for so long and not visiting her sooner. He realized the Knights were not all that he thought they were, and he no longer wanted to become one.

He went on to join his friend in creating an atelier of their own, and became her Watchful Eye. They even switched tassels, which is why his looks out of place with the rest of his outfit. He definitely doesn’t have feelings for her, and she definitely doesn’t secretly practice forbidden magic. Nothing bad happens and they live happily ever after

Below the cut is a comic / manga chapter for my claymore oc Millicent. First time doing a comic this long and it’s a little rough but I had a lot of fun with it! I’d like to do more chapters eventually.

Oc posting. This is my Claymore oc, Millicent. Here is her art fight page, below the cut is more detailed backstory than what I have on there

Her village was raided by bandits, she was the sole survivor because she hid for days. Eventually the Organization found her. She started out as rank 33, but she had an affinity for aura reading/manipulation. She never encountered yoma before her first mission, so she didn’t have any motivation to kill them aside from survival and is a defensive type.

On her first awakened being hunt, all the other warriors died and the single digit gave up her remaining energy to help Millicent heal and escape. This led to Millicent developing her Leech technique, where she manipulates the yoki of yoma/other Claymores to augment her own abilities (usually to heal). Since she’s basically stealing someone else’s energy, it weakens them in the process. Sometimes she can’t control it, which has led to the deaths of other warriors teamed up with her. This has caused rumors to spread and given her a bad reputation.

She embraces this reputation and pretends to be as cruel as everyone thinks she is. She tries to scare others off so they won’t get hurt by her. Really she’s just terrified of dying and getting close to others, and she carries a lot of guilt from everyone who has died for/because of her. She is convinced her reputation is deserved and true.

Eventually, she awakens because of how hard she clings to life. She feels obligated to stay alive no matter what because of her guilt. Her awakened form looks like a leech (surprise) with a hard shell, and is nearly impossible to kill.
