Update

So I’ve been living in a hotel since July 2024. We have a set and promised place to move into, we just need to wait until my cousin is done fixing up his new place and then finishes moving his stuff out of the old place. Shouldn’t take very long, maybe April at the most.

Well, we haven’t been able to keep up with the $400 a week to the hotel guy, and now we have until this Sunday to get out, OR come up with $1,200.

Not an ideal situation. So I may be quite absent (as if I wasn’t already 😓).

Parents are trying everything they can to get help, cause once we’re in the new place, we won’t have a $400 a week hole in our pockets anymore.

Sorry to dump on you all like this, I may even delete this post later, but I just wanted to get some words out about my situation.

Wears an ashy grey haori overtop a normal Hashira uniform. The haori has a light flecked motif, like light through the leaves of a tree. After Kyojuro’s passing, a flame symbol was added to the left shoulder.

Father was a worthless bastard (much like Shinjuro in his later years) often hurt Taiki

Mother was a ray of sunshine

Father refused to train Taiki

Taiki’s father can be described as cruel, abusive, and demeaning. His mother, however, was the complete opposite. Taiki comes from a long line of Demon Slayers, almost as long as the Rengoku family. Yet, while the Rengoku’s often become Hashira, the Kubo family have never reached that point.

Taiki’s father often belittled the boy, spitting out how he was worthless, and could never compare to a Rengoku.

In tears, Taiki was led by his mother to the Rengoku Residence. If Kubo’s couldn’t become Hashira on their own, perhaps it was time the two families offer tips and training to one another.

Taiki’s mother brought him straight to Shinjuro Rengoku, explaining the deeds of his father and the lack of training Taiki had received.

Shinjuro accepted the plea, and Kyojuro and Taiki were attached to the hip ever since.

Taiki was utterly torn apart when news of Kyojuro’s passing arrived. He spent three days crying and mourning, and then the next four training relentlessly, feeling as he was not strong enough. If Kyojuro was defeated, what good was he at that moment?

He barely ate or slept in that timeframe, eventually leading him to become sick from overexertion.

Taiki tried to learn Flame Breathing, but with the threats of being burned by his father, Shinjuro and him ultimately needed to find a different breathing style for him. He took inspiration from the sun’s light, seeing the reflection in his blade gave him the idea for Light Breathing.

Megumi has long, black hair with a pink tint, which is usually tied into one singular braid. Her eyes are bright blue and warm. She usually sports a soft smile.

Yasu has medium-length, black hair with a white ombré affect, which was passed down by his and Akimitsu’s father. His face holds early wrinkles from how much he smiles. His grey eyes are much softer in emotion and color than Akimitsu’s. His hands hold light scarring, from burns to small cuts, all from his work as a cook.

Sayuri is rather short, as is her black-brown hair. Her eyes are a brilliant emerald green. She is usually quite relaxed in the face, looking at peace when she dances.

Honoka is short like her mother, but much more energetic. Her hair is a lot like Taiki’s, except it’s a bit more brown than black, but the white roots remain. It’s often described as almost wild looking, the large locks usually held together with a bright, yellow colored ribbon.
