Genesis
"He was alone with the woman he would have bruised his knees for, scraped his hands across the pavement begging her to stay, just once, and she had. She stayed past the rise of the sun, not that she probably realized it, and his whole body ached with it in a way oh-so-welcome. He wondered if she knew he’d rip his heart out for her, that he’d let her rip it out with those sharp nails of hers if she wanted it. He never understood how God made Adam and Eve. How God took a rib from Adam to create his lover, how Adam didn’t rip it out himself when God offered him the concept of her, how he didn’t rip out another and give it to her as a sacrifice, how she was the real deity there. Eve, more divine than the garden made for them. Eve, who ran hands through Adam’s hair, who smiled at her lover and watched him melt at her gaze, who convinced him to eat the fruit of sin, who was more powerful to him than the prospect of God’s wrath. Eryk would never have hesitated if Ray had been the one asking."
(B.C. From the universe of Don't Call Me Darling, Darling)

Writer’s culture is agonizing for weeks over how to describe the most mundane detail and then coming up with the best sentence you’ve ever written while brushing your teeth

Deepest apologies to the well-thought-out characters that I created but never wrote the stories for.

"You assure me your knee is fine but I argue you need to ice it we lock hands and spin and the grass and sweat on our bodies itches and turns us pink and I show you my phone password and you sit so you're blocking the sun from getting in my eyes and I'm wearing your jeans and I comment how beautiful you are and the sunlight laughs - like you - and it's April, and I love you"
