Entry one: my experiences. 9-7-17
During my trips to the realm I've noticed quite a few things. The nature and life there is so much different. The trees ache with agony and the animals are alien. They are unlike the things we see in the human realm. The noises at night are enough to make you a paranoid insomniac as if the people there weren't already crazy. Many of the folks i meet there are mentally unstable, or criminally insane.

History of the Tall Man
The Slenderman is a well known entity, that even adults know the name of, and fear. The earliest appearance of the Slenderman date back to 9000 BC, where the painting of a man with elongated arms was leading a child by the hand. These hieroglyphs can be found in the Serr da Capivara National Park in the Northeast of Brazil.
The next well known hieroglyphics are the ones in Egypt, dating back to 3100 BC in the lower sector of Egypt. He is referenced heavily in Egypt to be the ‘Thief of the Gods’ or ‘Thief of Kuk’ becoming most common in the reign of Pharaoh Wazner, who may have had contact with the entity through a tablet of sorts. The carvings represent that of a strange figure with multiple limbs, one that has never been found in other hieroglyphs.
The Slenderman had also made a large appearance in the 18th century. A renowned German woodcutter by the name of Hans Freckenberg created two woodcuts that described the Slenderman as a character called ‘Der Ritter’. These woodcarvings were found at Halstberg Castle in 1883.
There were also many other woodcuts, one made by Brandenburg, depicting a tall man in the woods next to a try. The next being that of a picture that has a child being pulled from their mother by a skeleton with long arms.
Many historians do not know what character these woodcutters had made. Some believed it was to represent the plague, or the war. Others believed that the pictures were trying to represent that of “Der Goberman” (The Tall Man) According to legend, he was a fairy that lived within the Black Forest. Bad children who crept into the woods would be relentlessly chased, until they told their parents of their wrongdoings. There is a chilling account from a journal dated back to 1702:
“My child, my Lars… he is gone. Taken, from his bed. The only thing that we found was a scrap of black clothing. It feels like cotton, but it is softer… thicker. Lars came into my bedroom yesterday, screaming at the top of his lungs that "The angel is outside!" I asked him what he was talking about, and he told me some nonsense fairy story about Der Großmann.
He said he went into the groves by our village and found one of my cows dead, hanging from a tree. I thought nothing of it at first… but now, he is gone. We must find Lars, and my family must leave before we are killed. I am sorry, my son… I should have listened. May God forgive me.”
There is also a Romanian legend that has to deal with the tall Man. (Refer to File 23) this story also held the familiar entity with his long arms and tall frame.
"The tall man stood in a clearing, dressed as a nobleman, all in black. Shadows lay over him, dark as a cloudy midnight. He had many arms, all long and boneless as snakes, all sharp as swords, and they writhed like worms on nails. He did not speak, but made his intentions known," In the fairytale, the Tall Man causes a mother to kill her husband and child, before he slid from a fireplace and "clenched her in his burning embrace."
Now the Slenderman is a known entity around the world, and variously researched on. Could he be real? Or is he truly fake, created by a man on Something Awful Forums. Or did this man truly see the SlenderMan, and right before his death, he let the world know of The Slender Man.

He Who Drowned
Ben Drowned, a well known entity that was sealed within the Majora's Mask Cartridge, a favorite among the Legend of Zelda game franchise. Not much is known on Ben, or if he even is real. Jadusable himself, the creator of Ben even said that he was nonexistent. The thing is, why would you feel the need to tell the community that if it were not real?
Ben's past is a strange one, and hard to gain any information from it. The day he died was confirmed to be April 23, 2002. A theory I have stumbled upon in my research, is that his father had been in a cult called The Moon Children. And Ben's failed Ascension, or sacrifice, had been why he lost his eyes.
"The eyes are the window to the soul."
Another possibility, is that after his failed ascension they threw his body into a body of water, hoping to forget their failure. And there he died, becoming a vengeful spirit, and his spirit was linked to the Majora's Mask game he loved so dearly when he was alive. After that he was sold to Jadusable, who set him free into the electrical system, where he became a very powerful entity.
Some of my research points to Ben having been powers that revolve around electricity. He causes insanity possibly through the glitches and strangeness of what the game does to it's player. He could use the light from the screen, and make our brains hallucinate, and see strange figures or be delusional. The Elegy of Emptiness statue could give the appearance that Ben is always watching, instilling a deep fear of the entity. The victims soon begin to feel paranoid, driving them to the brink of insanity, some even killing themselves.
Many say that Ben can get into other electronics through wires, which seems to be the case since electricity travels through power cords. Which also means that he can materialize physical into the actual world beyond a screen. This leaves him subjected to photography, some people having gotten lucky shots, such as the photo above.
Let me know your thoughts on Ben, or share any information on him you would like to give out.
The full story of Ben is found here: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/BEN_Drowned

How is it that Slenderman is stopped by the Severance symbol sometimes but other times he isn't? what is the difference between each instance here? for example: the Severance symbol on Noah's blog for the journal entries actually protects it, but you said a Severance symbol tattooed on his body wouldn't protect him.
It’s all dependent on the intent of the person creating the symbol, the consequent purpose of the symbol, and what the symbol is inscribed on. Posting a symbol to a blog with the intention of protection will serve it’s purpose of blocking out a specific group of spooks because a webpage is not as complicated as a person. A tattoo artist would specifically have to keep in mind those things when inking someone with the symbol, but unlike lines of code a human being has a myriad of variables in play that must be accounted for, so many in fact that one tattoo artist would have to spend years to create an somewhat similar form of protection, inking symbol upon symbol upon symbol with carefully crafted significations to cover all conceivable weak spots - to the point where the ends will never truly be able to justify the means.
