I never really thought about this until I was much older and thought about all of these things in context. This actually reminds me how much the Howard Ashman Disney films (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin) are all about acceptance of who you are. All of the major characters get misjudged from half remembered pop culture perspectives (Ariel gave up her voice for a boy, Belle has Stockholm Syndrome, Jasmine doesn't recognize the guy she spent a day with), and there's always an attempt to fix it. But what people don't realize is the subtext that is given by the main creatives involved.

Beauty and the Beast had Belle seeking belonging from someone who understood her and her passions. She was trapped in a society, where only her father and the bookshop owner saw her value as a person. Meanwhile, everyone else either thought she was a weirdo or lusted after her (Gaston). And let us not forget that Belle willingly chose to stay with the Beast in exchange for her father's freedom. Not to mention that she DID leave. Beast let her leave TWICE. And she returned both times because he was IN DANGER! Not to mention that they actually bonded over shared interests. She found someone who appreciated her love of reading and adored her for who she was as a person. And not just the Beast but everyone in the castle: Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Wardrobe, etc. They gave her a home that felt like home. And she fell in love with Beast because of who he was not what he looked like (again, can be read as a queer allegory because of loving someone for who they are).

Then, there's Aladdin. Aladdin has some more mixed stuff, but that's also because the film was completed after Ashman's death. Yet, his presence is still felt. First of all, both Aladdin and Jasmine wanted to see what the other person's life was like long before they even met. And they bonded as a couple before they even fully knew who the other was, meaning that it didn't matter if Jasmine was wealthy or Aladdin was a thief, they loved each other for who they were. Also, Jasmine does recognize him as Ali and even confronts him about it. When Aladdin lies using what Jasmine did as a cover, you look at Jasmine's face. She knows it's BS but is willing to believe the lie because as has been established, the law says that she must marry a prince. In order to manipulate the law to her advantage, she has to pretend something else is true in order to be with the one she loves. And at a time when gay marriage wasn't a thing in the US, what did the wealthy do? Oh right, take advantage of stuff like Civil Union Contracts to get around it. Jasmine is the princess, and she could have ridden that lie. It was because her father was accepting that she got to marry who she wanted in the end by having the law changed.

Also, as an Autistic person, the Menken-Ashman films have the most neurodivergent leads in the Disney Princess line-up. Ariel and Belle have always struck a chord with me because they have nerdy hyper fixations in their lives, and Ariel makes up a friend group of similarly nerdy people (Scuttle and Flounder). Eric loves the sea so much that he would rather be sailing than being a prince (something that the live action film had to emphasize by giving him his own nerdy treasure cave: a change that I approve of because now, he and Ariel are neurodivergent for neurodivergent). Belle and Beast bond over nerdy habits as Beast learns to appreciate what Belle enjoys (even getting to learn how to read from her). Aladdin and Jasmine in the original film is a bit of a stretch, but all future stuff like the sequels and the tv show have him and Jasmine be constantly curious about the world and being an awesome team together. Plus, their best friend is the Genie, who is ADHD incarnate (especially when played by the legendary Robin Williams).

This was just what I was thinking about when reading this thread. Don't know if I could add anything of value to it, but here's what I thought of.

There’s barely any time for anything other than my work, but when there is time, I do play some board games.

I’m unsure if chess counts, but that’s definitely my favorite. I’m trying to teach the Creation how to play, but I don’t think he gets it just yet. Most of the time, I play with Ygor, but he almost always cheats.

At first youre just friends, but then winter comes and her sleepy cuddliness breaks the ice. " If i leave my heater My fingers are too cold!!" You:!!!!

You catch her one day playing human dating sims " its for research!!!:)" you both play and giggle

Until during a x rated scene she turns to you and asks if she can " kiss you, for research."; what happens after that is up to you!

AAAAAAHHHH!!! This is perfect! I absolutely adore lamia love interests, and even have some RPG stuff with lamia love interests. She sounds magnificent, and I would absolutely love making stuff and going to conventions with her.

She would have to teach me a lot about Pokemon or Digimon TCG though. I tend to play Magic: the Gathering, Dragon Ball: Super, or Lorcana. Then again, part of the fun is teaching each other your favorite games.
