♡ * & — open starter for: everyone!

The common room is not a place that Ahri really enjoys much, since there’s always a lot of people passing through that room and making a bunch of noise, and that really bothers her sometimes. But there are few exceptions, when the room is almost as empty as if it was super late at night, and that’s the only times where someone could finally spot her in there, always sitting by herself with her trusted knitting kit in her hands — the long baby pink needles and some thick yarn, always in soft colors like pastels and neutrals. She stays there in silence, paying attention to her work, one could even say she looks like an old lady when she’s in that state, sometimes she even has her glasses a bit too low on the bridge of her nose when she’s too focused. 

But the moment someone else walks into the room, her focused eyes avert from the needles to the person, and she scans them with all the attention she was putting into her knitting- until they spot something very unpleasant to look at for someone like her. “Oh my god. Please, tell me that hole on your sweater is intentional, because if it’s not- how dare you walk around with something like that when one of your neighbors is the best seamstress here!” The tone of her voice almost makes her sound like she’s angry and upset, but she’s just slightly shocked by that horrendous detail on their clothes. “Come here, let me take a look.”

       kit had popped down to the common room to encourage his own awful habits, nothing good for his health to be found here but then again he wasn’t sleeping anyway so really how much worse was it to sneak away and grab a cold brew can of coffee from the fridge. the thing is, he’s pretty much expecting to be alone. the common room gets busy at most times of the day but 1am is normally a pretty safe point to venture out and find yourself alone with the quiet of the night, all he wants is a coffee, he isn’t here for conversation so half of the time he doesn’t even bother to turn the lights on in case it should encourage more dormmates to explore what fellow night-owls are up to. they’d be expecting some hyper active, wide eyed and bushy tailed student no doubt who was itching for company. not a still half asleep, slightly disorientated and narrowly avoiding blurry vision by wearing his glasses for a rare once in a while kit chareon. unlike others, he manages to get sleepy he just doesn’t get to the point of actually drifting off. the most he can handle at this hour is listening to a good playlist till sleep finally sets in. so, he’s admittedly a little startled to stumble downstairs to bright warm glow all around. he’s ready to brace himself with a gruff rumble of displeasure under his breath for dealing with an eager student. 

       he’s pretty relieved when what he finds instead as he takes the final steps into the gathering spot, is ahri contently knitting away. he was ready to deal with an annoying younger sibling wanting to play truth or dare on the spot, finding what was more like your grandma hit with a burst of midnight inspiration was much more ideal for kit. he could work with that. he isn’t even expecting the girl to spare him a glance, he knows what she’s like when she gets really engrossed in a knitting task, no detail is missed so a beady eye is always watching how that needle loops through holes. he strolls on by and opens the fridge to grab his drink without pause but jumps slightly as her voice actually does ring out into the empty space. ‘ Huh ? What ? Oh. ’ kit is slow on the uptake as he peeks out from behind the cooling air of the door to find ahri with a disapproving stare down his body, he glances over his own attire blearily before sharpening up. ah shit. she’s gonna scold him into next month for this. ‘ I- was actually just waiting for a good moment to find you, you know and like approach you when you weren’t super busy with stuff. So I could show you it, obviously. I only really have been wearing it for bed though I swear, you know I’m normally flawless stuntin with the style ahri, as if I wouldn’t come to my number one stylist over this ! ’ he evades easily, fabricating the excuse with a quiet mental pat on the back for doing so well on the spot when sleep deprived. truthfully, he normally would give it to ahri but he’d found himself almost finding it comforting as a feature on the clothing, the fact it was already distressed gave him an excuse to just reuse it for bed each night of the week. another thing she would probably clip his ear for if she knew.

a breath escapes her lips as she steps back into the warmth of the dormitory building, gently tugging down the scarf that was shielding half her face from the bite that was winter temperatures; she always hated the cold. her childhood house was typically cold, the planes she accompanied her dad onto was cold, hotel rooms, business meetings, corporate parties she was forced to go to, all freezing. she couldn’t STAND being tensed up with the frigid environment, uncomfortable in her own skin and only wanting, yearning to feel that warmth she’s always wanted ( but always felt out of reach ). aeri wouldn’t admit aloud but she truly felt at home in dorm b5, despite some ghostly presences lingering about everywhere; she found those to be quite normal, comforting even after getting used to them when she finished her first year at seongsa, as odd as that sounded but it was aeri’s normal; her finally being able to feel normal.

she takes quick steps to one of the lounge couches and releases another breath as she allows herself to relax. enough of this feeling, aeri thinks to herself with a frown. this day was such a bother. picking up her phone, she wonders if this would be a good time for a nap; (6) missed calls from dad. pressing the device firmly to the couch, she groans quietly to herself in annoyance. “ of course, “ aeri whispers, closing her eyes until she feels the pressure of a hand on her shoulder; a sharp sense of surprise jolting her body as she whips around to face them. “ shit — ! a warning next time, please ? “ she scolds with narrowed eyes & a hand pressed to her racing heart. // ( open ! )

       kit had been asking around for his favorite nuisance all day long with no luck, no one had seen aeri which was crazy to him because she was a menace who usually pestered people incessantly until they answered her latest fashion dilemma, he wouldn’t say she was a social butterfly per say but she certainly conversed with a wider range of people in the dormitory than he did. he’d be more worried if she wasn’t so fiercly independent, but the very first time they had met they hadn’t exactly been platonic soulmates at first sight. kit had managed to wind her up big time, wasn’t something he found hard to do with most, but aeri was unexpected for him. she didn’t just succumb to his stand-offish nature, fire had definitely met with gasoline and she gave as good as she got right back. so much so, that by the time kit had apologised and tried to insist he helped her out with the mishap that he had caused, she stubbornly refused his every effort. kit had ended up earning her forgiveness and trust over the course of months, slowly repaying her in compensation for his mistake. the friendship had blossomed from both of them bugging each other into camaraderie. so he was pretty certain she could look after herself, it just left him bored as all hell while he waited for her to return from her adventures. 

      he had been waiting around in the dorm kitchen, fixing up some seriously good butterscotch hot cocoa’s if he did say so himself, and for anyone who thought kit was self-centered....well they were right. aeri was an exception, the only person who he would ever apologize to willingly without hesitation and one of the few who he would think to consider the needs of. he’d seen on the weather app how freezing temperatures were today, aeri was even worse at dealing with the cold than him. so he found the biggest mug available and tallest and gave her a generous helping of the cocoa and some whipped cream and sauce too, he just had this sixth sense that the day had been pretty awful if she’d gone out in conditions she so despised. as he heard the unmistakable whisper of a groan that she let out, he approached the lounge she had just defeatedly strolled into. he blinks twice as he appears behind her from where she had flopped on the couch, her exclamation of shock ringing in his ears a little. ‘ is that any way to greet the man who loves you so dearly he just spent minutes of his precious time preparing you a very delectable cocoa ? ’ he huffed, faux affronted as he let out an offended scoff and disbelieving shake of his head, presenting the beverage from behind his back and handing it to the girl before jumping over the back of the couch to join her. ‘ quit your whining, i wore my softest sweater for you and pre-warmed it so nestle in and steal my body heat. i wanted to ask what film we should do tonight, gone girl or unfriended ? i’m getting gone girl vibes from you big time right now i cant lie ’

          *turns the bass to max and blasts monsta x’s rodeo* howdy crazy kids, i’m opal and i reside in the good ol gmt timezone ( which seems to always make me like the odd one out in rp where did all u brits go sjdjd ). i use she/they so honestly either is fine !! i’m v excited to be here, it’s been a while since i’ve seen an rp around that has a supernatural element without it being like intense and dramatic plot wise. it’s nice to see a slice of life incorporate it for once !! anyway kit has a pinterest board you can check out here to get a sense of his general persona and his stats page is here ( he does not have a bio yet but his stats do kinda delve into that area briefly enough for now ) and below the cut i will give u the run down of him !! just heart this bad boy up and i’ll come to u for plotting i don’t like to lay things out in a like set super elaborate way so i’ll pop some general ideas down at the end of this intro but rlly we can just form connections off what our muses have in common and how their personalities would gel !! : 

so kit is a music production major student and his love for his craft is immense. music is without a doubt the passion in and love of his life. he’s never felt like he really connected to much else in the world like he has done to and with music. it’s almost like a living entity to him because he has this chemistry and harmony with it which seems to always mean that he excels at whatever he tries out in the musical field. 

he’s also a professional level violinist. he plays in competitions as well as concerts, pretty much always places first. i imagine it’s immensely annoying for anyone whose up against him. but kit doesn’t have bad sportsmanship, nor is he greedy. there’s just nothing he pours his soul into quite like his music. 

has recently formed a band. he plays guitar in it. it’s more of a hobby and a for fun thing then it is anything serious but they all enjoy it and have a good time just making melodies and stories with the instruments. they’re crazy good though. sometimes they will do some competitions or gigs. there is nothing that compares to the adrenaline rush of being on stage for kit in this whole world. ( by the way this is totally open for connections i think it would be super fun to have his band members be other muses ! ) 

think like the anime given and like day6, the rose etc in terms of kit’s vibes and inspiration. he mostly is inspired by the character of ugetsu murata if anyone has seen given. 

his mom passed away during childbirth but obviously kit is too young to remember all of this so he’s not traumatized by it or anything, he has an amazing and lovely adoptive family who he’s always seen as good as being biological. he does have that slight feeling of being unwanted though, since his biological father never wanted anything to do with him and he didn’t have the out of death interfering so he’s a little bitter about that. 

he was raised in busan and he has a younger sister and an older brother. he actually does have a really close relationship with his whole family but it isn’t in the conventional way where they’re super open and warm. not a lot of them are good with emotions, mostly that is down to his parents and sister. but it works out since they also make kit more in touch with his sentimental and loving side. 

he’s not like... a fuckboy per se but he’s a bit of a charmer and a minx. he does sleep around like a lot and spends half his life flirting up a storm, very into his casual intimacy. you can often locate him hooking up in really unconventional places on campus and he’s like hardly ever in his own dorm room. 

remembers strange facts about music like all the time, kind of just one of the perks of being a music major but he will randomly blurt them out and think that like this works as a form of comfort like if you’re worried about putting off something for your studies, he’ll tell you some weird fact about how much mozart or whatever used to procrastinate to make you feel better cause he’s terrible at being emotionally responsive :-))))

he’s really into like his fashion, bit of an 80′s fanatic so he loves like the whole aesthetic of that era in terms of fashion and music. i mean you can just go to his pin section on style but you’ll see it’s very much 80′s and 90′s inspired. 

has a sweet tooth so if you want a quick way for him to like you then i recommend just giving him baked goods or biscuits of any variety because he is a fiend for that. and it’s hard to impress kit on a regular day so you may want an easy way into getting him to actually notice you. 

he’s not mean, he’s just really unobservant. like he’s so focused on his music and study that he literally almost is obsessive so he finds most things boring that don’t relate to music somehow since it’s the one thing he feels he truly connects with but he’s trying i swear. he’ll improve. you just gotta prod him a bit and he will interact meaningfully. 

he’s playful, mischievous, fun loving despite sometimes seeming intimidating because he can regularly be found brooding over his desktop trying to sort out a backing track or something, just powering his way through a pack of cigarettes and drinking far too much caffeine. he loves to gossip and he’s pretty funny with the irony and dry-wit and smart ass vibes despite being so in his own world all the time. 

he’s lonely deep down underneath like all of his bravado. like ugetsu he is kind of one of those characters who has that hidden emotional complexity, on the surface he may just seem like a self-absorbed asshole but in reality he’s just a little bit lost and lonely and he actually does want to find a whole army of soulmates in friends and a ‘special’ someone that he can connect with. he’s kind of just trying to figure out who he is outside of his music without losing his drive for it.
