My goals are to get fit and keep my curves (AKA the Cuban Booty). They don't have to be mutually exclusive! Using Cize from Beach Body Fitness to dance for exercise and the 21 Day Fix containers to get my nutrition in check. Rewarding myself with Lilly...

in the au where the wizarding world handles things a little more logically (like, say, checking sirius and peter’s wands for who cast the blasting spell) and sirius doesn’t go to azkaban
sirius ends up raising harry
and obviously remus is along to make sure sirius doesn’t either a: spoil harry into oblivion or b: accidentally kill harry
so harry, growing up with them, goes to hogwarts, and gets someone who asks the question of “do you have a mum” and harry replies with “sort of, i have a moony.”
and sirius hears about this on holiday and starts referring to remus as “moomy” bc he’s horrible
and after some time of this, remus just finally turns around and gives sirius a completely deadpan look and just says
“dadfoot”

So, I had a rough day and my resolve kind of flagged... and I went of junk food for lunch and dinner. Ok, cool. One bad day is not going to derail my good results. Except now it’s past midnight and I’M HUNGRY. I’ve already had carrots and hummus as a snack but I’m STILL HUNGRY. Quick, someone restrain me before I eat everything ever. I’ve even tried drinking water until I’ve felt full, but the hunger always returns within a few minutes, so I’m guessing it’s real hunger.
Lesson learned: Getting off plan throws all of you out of whack. Thank God it’s just for one day. I gotta stay on track for tomorrow. Anyone know where I can get a good chicken salad for lunch?

Cize So Far
So, life has been hectic, but I’ve managed to stay on plan. Some setbacks at school have kept me from being as big a presence online as I would have liked. Excuses notwithstanding, let me begin by saying...
I LOVE CIZE!!!
Shaun T is no joke. Crazy 8s, the first video in the program, is intense. I have injuries resulting from a car crash almost a year ago to the day that cause a sciatic-like pain to shoot down my leg on the best of days. There is a move in the first video that aggravates that pain. Guess what? I modified it so that it’s not as painful! Problem solved.
I’m doing the advanced calendar, so after 3 days I moved on to the 2nd video, You Got This. I was ready for more intense working out, and when I found out that it’s longer than the first video, I was prepared to work harder than I did before. And I did, but it was WAY so much more fun! The choreography is more complex but it feels more like dancing.
I’m looking forward to the next videos once I get past this one. I’m getting a great workout and building up a good sweat each time. I’m hoping to see some good results in my “after” measurements and photos. Wish me luck!

Cize Eating Plan
Have you ever thought to yourself, “Man, I hate dieting! It’s so restrictive. You can only eat this or that and you can’t eat out anymore. Counting calories and points is such a pain in the ass, and they keep changing the system so who can keep up? Once I’ve figured it out and got a good groove going, the system changes and I’m left out in the cold, figuring it out all over again.”
Let me introduce you to the best eating plan I’ve ever used. It makes total sense, and I haven’t counted a single calorie in the two weeks I’ve been using it. Points? Nah.
Cize comes with an eating plan that lets me customize my meals. It describes how many portions of each food group I should have in a day, and I can shuffle and rearrange them as I need. The day after I started this, I went to some food trucks with my friend. The next day, I ate Chuck E Cheese pizza with my 7-year-old nephew. Additionally, I’ve had two cheat meals (always on Sundays, right before my weigh-in day).
Including all of that? I’m down 4.9 pounds in two weeks, just with the eating plan! I can’t imagine how much I’ll lose once I actually start working out...
Excited to find out!

Ok so I know I said I would recap day one today, but I didn't. I do have a life outside of Cize and Beach Body 😉 Today was all about dissertation and work, but I still got my workout in, and even made it to some food trucks with a friend! I will update as soon as I get the chance. Just know that I am loving this new system and this process. The containers have made it so easy for me to conceptualize what I'm eating and to plan meals for the day. I am so ready to take over the world. Also, Cize day 2 kicked my butt. Hard.

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog! Today is Day One of my Cize challenge. I just signed up to be a Beach Body coach and I will be documenting the whole process on this blog. But first things first. I’m sure you’re wondering who on earth I am and why I’m even bothering with all this fitness nonsense. I’m glad you asked!
My name is Marta and I am overweight. There, I said it. Thankfully, I’m fairly well-proportioned so it doesn’t show as much, but I am heavier than I need to be, by far. I’ll go so far as to say that I’m flirting with the obesity line, per my BMI. I refuse to cross that line, so I’ve decided to do something about it.
No, this is not the first time I’ve tried to lose weight. In fact, I’ve been quite successful at it in the past. I was quite happy with my sorority composite photo in my freshman year, but by the time we were photographed for sophomore year, I had gained the Freshman 30 (yes, 30). I remember asking the photographer if I could lose 30 pounds and try again. He just laughed and said no. That year, I did Weight Watchers. In combination with salsa classes, I lost 30 pounds in 6 months, just in time to celebrate my 21st birthday. I looked amazing in my sorority composite photo in my junior year. Then I got confident, then I got lazy, and I gained the 30 pounds back by senior year. I stopped counting points and blamed the system because they changed the calculations, which completely messed with my habits. So, I quit, and it showed. I sporadically tried it again and again over the next year or so before I decided that it was a waste of time and money and that I’d never be able to get back on that bandwagon.
I gained weight over several years in my graduate program, for various reasons I will not go into for the sake of brevity. I’m sure it will come up as I continue in this program.
So what made me decide to do this?
I just had no idea what I was doing. I got an Apple Watch in June and I’d been going to the gym every day, doing 30 minutes of cardio, or the occasional 30 minutes of calisthenics at home. After two months, I saw minimal results. I knew I wasn’t eating right, though I convinced myself that I was making small, healthier choices. It recently dawned on me that I have no idea what to eat and no idea how to work out. Sure, I could objectively tell you that broccoli is healthier than french fries, but could I build a whole set of healthy meals for the whole day? Hell to the no. I had no idea what I was doing. I was just doing whatever I thought I could do, whatever my Apple Watch said was good enough. And you know what? I did improve a little. I saw some increase in my abilities, but more than anything, I saw an increase in my CONFIDENCE. I CAN work out 30 minutes every day, I CAN do it consistently, and I CAN see results. I just wasn’t getting them fast enough.
After a substantial personal break from working out, I spoke with Jenn about this cool new workout program she had been posting about on Facebook called Cize. She told me that for $140, I could get the Cize exercise program, plus a month of Shakeology, plus her coaching. I also jumped on the business opportunity for the discount, so I’m a coach as well. I can see how these products have helped several people that I know, and I look forward to learning how to eat and having a structured exercise program.
My next post will be my thoughts on my first day, including meal prep, the meal plan, the workout, and the aftermath. I can tell you this now: WHAT A DAY!
Please feel free to ask me any questions! I’ll be happy to answer them. You can reach me on the following social media sites, apart from this tumblr:

I look forward to hearing from you! I hope you’ll enjoy following my fit journey. All this accountability is going to keep me on track, hopefully. Wish me luck!
